About BRAC Uganda Scholarship Program:
BRAC Uganda in partnership with
The MasterCard Foundation implements a national level secondary scholarship
programme targeting academically talented yet economically marginalized young
Ugandans. Over a period of eight years, the programme will enable 5,000
students to complete secondary school and transition into higher education.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide
    technical assistance to the project on issues related to skills
    development and TVET.
  • Ensure
    job skills training and career guidance to the Scholars on the Programme.
  • Offer
    technical support in undertaking a comprehensive mapping, assessment of
    the identified TVET partner institutions to provide holistic TVET
    alternative education services to the scholars.
  • Provide
    supervision to TVET Institutions, local consultants, on short term
    collaboration consultancy and ensure well-coordinated delivery of
    component activities through effective and efficient planning and
    coordination.
  • Develop
    a framework for integrating skill development programs with local industry
    needs.
  • Support
    the application and registration of scholars into the TVET Program.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the BRAC International TVET Specialist job placement
    must hold a Bachelor’s degree in education, Social sciences or a related
    discipline.
  • At
    least five years’ experience in a similar position within the education or
    development sector especially post- secondary & tertiary institutions
  • Broad
    knowledge and understanding of education and youth programming.
  • Ability
    to mentor and work with young people especially secondary students.
  • Excellent
    written and verbal communication skills, good computer skills &
    effective interpersonal skills.
  • Experience
    working in a multicultural environment with diverse internal & external
    stakeholders.
