which is an equal opportunities employer is a semiautonomous public agency set
up by the Uganda Export Promotion Board Act 1996 under the Ministry of Trade,
Industry and Cooperatives with the main objective of facilitating the development,
promotion and coordination of all export- related activities that lead to export
growth on a sustainable basis.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial and accounting services
    including budget preparation, payroll management, funds requisition and their
    disbursement and accounting,
  • The jobholder will also prepare annual work plans
    and programmes for the Directorate
  • Provide input in consolidating accounts and
    preparing quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Support and develop proper financial reporting system
  • Maintain an up-to-date asset register for the
    Board
  • Assist with the internal and external audit
    exercises
  • Tasked with the preparation of all payments by
    the Board to ensure conformance with the Board’s Financial and Accounting Regulations, and relevant
    national laws governing public finance and accountability
  • Perform any other duties as may from time to
    time be assigned by the Executive Director
  • Provide technical advice to the ED and other
    stakeholders on financial accounting and management, human resource policies and procedures and common
    services
  • Monitor and evaluate performance management
    system in the Directorate.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the Uganda Export Promotions Board (UEPB) Director
    Finance & Administration job opportunity must be a Ugandan who holds an
    Honors Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Finance, Accounting,
    Economics or Business Administration from a recognized awarding University
    or Institution, and Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting. Be a full
    member of an Accounting body such as ACCA, CPA, and ICPAU.
  • Eight
    or more years of experience at senior or management level gained from a
    reputable organization, (4) four years of which should either be in
    private or public sector.
  • Extensive
    knowledge of Public Finance and Accountability Act (PFAA), Public
    Finance and Management Act (PFMA),
    public service regulations, Public service standing orders and related
    financial management regulatory frameworks
  • Familiarity with the procurement, disposal and
    contract management process
  • Excellent human resource management skills
  • Effective
    delegation, mentoring and coaching of subordinates.
  • Effective delegation, mentoring and coaching

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Time Management
