and needs. LWF Uganda currently has five areas of operation in Pader, Kitgum,
Adjumani, Katakwi, Sembabule, Kampala and Kamwenge Districts.
Job Summary: The Payroll
Officer co-ordinates, directs, and controls payroll preparation, processing,
disbursement, and records management, and ensures that the payroll and
applicable taxes/deductions are processed in an accurate, compliant and timely
manner. S/he ensures that the payroll procedures are compliant, efficient and
current up-to-date. S/he should be analytical and methodical, with experience
in payroll administration and deep knowledge of payroll regulations and
legislation. The Payroll Officer must be dedicated and industrious, committed
to accuracy in all transactions. S/he will handle all payroll processing duties
and will collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and Financial Accounting teams.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Lutheran World
    Relief (LWR) Payroll Officer job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree (BSc/BA) in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or
    related field
  • Professional certification Certified
    Payroll Professional designation is an added advantage
  • A minimum of five years’ experience with
    payroll systems and related software programs before progressing into
    management in a fast-paced organization.
  • The incumbent must value integrity, team
    spirit, and strong organizational skills.Proven experience as a payroll
    manager or similar role required
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll, tax, and
    retirement legislation Experience in Managing Processes, People
    Management, Data Entry Management, Compensation and Wage Structure,
    Benefits Administration, Worker Compensation, Employment Law, and
    Developing Standards and Policies
