change communication approaches to raise people’s awareness of and demand for
health care services for Reproductive Health, HIV, Malaria, and Maternal &
Child Health.
Job Summary: The Marketing
and Public Relations Manager will be tasked with Marketing, Brand promotions,
Public Relations and Good Life Fund management functions of the organization.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Strategy:  
  • Lead on the development and execution of
    the UHMG Marketing Strategies in liaison with the Head Marketing and
    Communication.
  • Work with the Product Facility Sales
    Manager to develop and implement Marketing and Brand Promotion Strategies
    and New Product Development plans.
  • Work closely with Human Resources
    Department to draw up concrete plans to implement the Internal Marketing
    Strategy and Communication Policy.
  • Carry out the organization’s stakeholder
    audit and develop a Corporate Communications strategy to engage them in
    line with the Strategic & Business plans. Key categories will include;
    board and founder members, donors, prospective donors, corporate
    organizations, media, and others.
  • Lead on identifying and coordinating
    events to profile UHMG as a key player in health marketing amongst
    targeted stakeholder audiences.
  • Partnerships for Brand Support and
    Resource Mobilization
  • Lead on the creation and maintenance of
    networks with corporate organisations, CSOs, cultural, and religious
    institutions to support UHMG’s Social Marketing mandate.
  • Good Life Fund: Be responsible
    for the growth of the Good Life Fund, manage implementation, and the donor
    portfolio, and overall documentation.
  • Public Relations:  Stakeholder database: Develop, update,
    and maintain the organization’s stakeholder database.
  • Website: Work closely with the
    Head-Marketing and Communications, Strategic Communications and ICT
    managers, periodically monitor, and update content for the UHMG website.
  • Media Relations: Be responsible
    for the generation of media releases and editorials that profile the work
    of UHMG amongst UHMG publics.
  • Events: Be responsible for
    institutional event invitations, generation of talking points, speeches,
    and event coverage.
  • Event Calendar: Develop an
    event calendar harmonizing UHMG’s internal scheduled Public Relations
    activities with industry events.
  • CSR: Coordinate the Corporate
    Social Investment initiatives in liaison with the Head Marketing and
    Communications.
  • Materials: Be responsible for
    designing, updating, and following up with the procurement of the UHMG
    Marketing and Public Relations materials, ensuring safe custody, and
    keeping track of disseminations.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit
    periodic reports for the Marketing and Public Relations function,
    including following up actions with stakeholders.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the UHMG Marketing
    and Public Relations Manager job opportunity should hold a Postgraduate
    qualification in marketing with a certified International professional
    qualification. Bachelors Degree in Marketing or any related course.
  • Broad and deep
    experience in fundraising and/or marketing and sales for at least eight or more years. 
  • Significant experience in marketing, sales and public relations at a management
    level.
  • Sound knowledge of market dynamics both in marketing, sales, and
    corporate communications. 
  • Significant experience in managing diverse
    marketing, sales and communications teams.
  • Practical writing skills with evidence of articles and publications offer an added advantage. 
  • Exposure with the Public Health Industry,
    in particular, will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal,
    and writing skills; with demonstrable experience of handling writing and
    other Corporate relations assignments for at least 4 years.
  • Excellent organizational and time
    management skills with the ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to cope with competing deadlines.
  • High degree of creativity, imagination,
    initiative, drive, competence, flexibility, and a willingness to learn;
    Possess photography, networking, Business awareness skills, with a good
    knowledge of the health marketing industry.
