About Us:
The National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU) is an
umbrella organization promoting the rights of Persons with disabilities in
Uganda with the vision of having ‘Dignity for every person with disability.’
NUDIPU exists to advocate for the rights of PWDs in a unified voice for
improved livelihoods.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Build the capacity of councillors for
    persons with disabilities and disability councils in the districts of
    Kayunga, Mukono and Buikwe
  • Build the capacity of leaders of Disabled
    Peoples Organizations in Kayunga, Mukono and Buikwe
  • The incumbent will organise and conduct
    exchange learning visits for councillors of persons with disabilities of
    Kayunga, Mukono, and Buikwe
  • Carry out meetings for DPOs leaders and
    Councillors for Persons with disabilities and local CSOs and development
    partners based in Mukono, Kayunga and Buikwe.
  • Conduct meetings between councillors of
    persons with disabilities and leaders of DPOs with district technical
    planning committee members of the districts of Kayunga, Mukono and Buikwe
  • Ensure disability inclusion in local
    governance planning and budgeting processes      
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s
    degree in Social Sciences or Social Works and Social Administration or
    Community Adult Education or development studies and or any other related
    humanities. A relevant master’s degree in policy and governance issues is
    desirable.
  • At least three years’ experience working
    with membership organizations, NGOs and has good understanding of local
    governance and development dynamics.
  • Good analytical and report writing skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
    skills
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Demonstrate ability to build teams
  • Highly computer literate in the following
    packages; database, power point, Excel and Ms Word
  • Broad knowledge and experience of working
    with local communities and PWDS
  • Good fundraising skills
