Living Water International (LWI) is a global Non-Governmental
organization that exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities
acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience “living
water”- the gospel of Jesus Christ – which alone satisfies the deepest
thirst. Living Water International Uganda (LWIU) was formed in 2009. LWIU is an
affiliate of Living Water International based in Houston, Texas, USA that was
founded in 1990 and currently works in over 20+ countries across Latin America,
the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, and India. LWI Uganda runs an integrated
Water Sanitation Hygiene (WASH) program in South Western Uganda & we
partner with other like-minded organsations to provide safe drinking water,
Community Mobilisation & Gospel Proclamation, Sanitation and Hygiene
Promotion to communities across Uganda.
Job Summary: The Operations
Director (OD) position is a core member of the senior management team who
provides spiritual and technical oversight to country strategy formulation,
oversees procurement & ensures accountability within policy guidelines. The
incumbent will provide team leadership and management including developing,
mentoring, coaching and performance management. He/she will build partnerships
with community & other stakeholders, actively participates in fundraising
initiatives and ensures smooth running of program operations. This position deputizes
the Country Director.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Degree in
    a technical/managerial field i.e. Business Administration, Engineering,
    International business.
  • Possession of a Master’s Degree in Public
    Health, Engineering, Business or Social Sciences. Possession of a
    post-Graduate training in project management, leadership monitoring and
    evaluation is desired
  • At least eight years of progressive work
    experience in designing, coordinating and implementation WASH programs in
    emergency and development context.
  • Five years’ experience in a Senior
    Management position with International NGOs.
  • Excellent knowledge of WASH sector
    including key strategies, approaches and standards.
  • Previous exposure and experience in designing
    and winning competitive grant proposals and concept paper.
  • Previous experience in designing and
    managing monitoring and evaluation systems for programs/projects
  • Extensive knowledge and familiarity with
    rules and regulations of major donors & partners like USAID, EU, DFID,
    World Bank and UN agencies
  • Excellent track record in networking and
    resource mobilization.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills,
    be self-driven and results oriented.
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork, strategic
    thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in computer with impressive
    presentations.
  • High Integrity/ethics, commitment and
    respect for diversity
  • Ability to provide coaching, mentoring and
    leadership to team members;
