About US:
Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) is a voluntary membership
organization established and fully owned by the Employers. It was founded in
1958 as the representative body of all Employers in Uganda. It was registered
as an Association in 1960 under the Trustee Incorporation Act. It’s a voice of
all Employers on Social and Economic issues. It is an organization that
advocates for Employers’ rights. 
They would like to recruit for one of their clients in the fast foods industry.

Job Summary: The General
Manager will oversee all business aspects of Company in accordance with the
Company’s strategic plan, including maximization of financial performance,
guest satisfaction and staff development within established quality standards.  The incumbent directly supervises all
employees at, including all department heads. He/ She will carry out
supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies,
programs, and applicable laws.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:   
  • Accomplish Company goals by spear heading
    the organizational strategy formulation, implementation and monitoring/
    evaluating for business excellence
  • Develop accurate and aggressive long and
    short-term financial objectives consistent with the Company’s mission.
  • Create and enhance an operating business
    environment that assures consistent guest satisfaction at the Shops.
  • Regularly monitor the performance of the
    company for competitiveness through verification and analysis of guest
    satisfaction systems and financial reports. Initiates corrective action.
  • Maintain product and service quality
    standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints.
    Initiates corrective action.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive
    management reports that clearly explain operational effectiveness, trends
    and variances.
  • Supervise a pro-active human resource
    function to ensure employee motivation, training and development, wage and
    benefits administration, and compliance with established labor
    regulations. Enhance a customer oriented company culture
  • Lead the Marketing team to create a
    visible brand and contribute to business expansion
  • Implement and maintain an effective
    open-door communication system that crosses departmental lines in order to
    reach all employees.
  • Adhere to Government regulations that
    influence the Company’s operations, ensuring  operations are in compliance with all
    applicable laws, regulations, and requirements of Government.
  • Ensuring occupational health and safety by
    establishing, following and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures;
    complying with health and legal regulations; maintaining work security
    systems.
  • Improve on professional and technical
    knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the safari lodging and restaurant
    industries; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional
    publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking
    state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:  
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Master’s
    degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s Degree in
    Hotel/Restaurant Management
  • Professional Qualification in Finance or
    Marketing
  • At least five years’ experience in a
    similar position in the Hospitality Industry
  • Computer literacy i.e. good knowledge/
    usage of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated skills in strategic planning
  • Demonstrated skills in preparing budgets
    and financial plans
  • Knowledge of supply chain management
  • Self-discipline, takes initiative, good
    leadership ability and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to motivate employees to work as a
    team to ensure that production and service meet appropriate standards.
  • Ability to handle the pressures of
    simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend
    appropriate solutions to both the Lodge and Cafe.
  • Must possess good communication skills for
    dealing with diverse staff.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks such
    as food, beverage and labor cost while maintaining required standards of
    operation in daily activities.
  • The individual should have reliable means
    of transport to/from work with a valid driver’s license.
