Job Summary: The Officer, MIS will support Stanbic Bank in the
provision of suitable management reporting and business analytics support to
the Head of Risk and the Risk MANCO in line with defined performance metrics.
The incumbent will also support the risk management teams by gathering risk
data from the various channels it is reported or stored, organising, analysing
and distributing as per agreed timelines. He / she will also implement measures
that will ensure risk data is readily available, and easily interpreted as well
as validation of the MIS and ensuring that any errors are corrected. The
jobholder will support the Head of Risk and the Risk team in monitoring and
tracking strategic and operational activities. The Officer MIS will offer
technical support on the bank policy governance and administration. The
incumbent will provide administrative support to the Head of Risk and the risk
management teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Reporting:
  • Provides standard management reports to the
    unit head for use on a day to day basis.
  • Prepare and submit risk reports on behalf of
    the FCC, Operational risk and Governance teams as specified.
  • Work closely with stakeholders in simplifying
    and improving risk reports, dashboards and scorecards to complement
    decision making and risk mitigation.
  • Escalates complex matters to the appropriate
    areas for prompt decision-making and follow through to ensure that
    satisfactory resolution happens quickly.
  • Distribute to Risk team the insights gained
    through report review and data analysis, including implications for risk
    management’s strategy as appropriate.
  • Updates and distributes risk reporting
    dashboards as required.
  • Accesses information quickly and effectively
    to identify and resolve matters/queries
  • Identifies and highlight problem trends for
    management decision making
  • Analysing collected data to provide reports
    containing sufficient level of detail to enable the Management team to
    make informed decisions.
  • In charge of preparing of presentations,
    dashboards and reports as required by the head of risk and the Risk team.
  • Participate in and coordinate Risk Management
    Committee forums, including but not limited to drafting of minutes and the
    agenda as well as noting and tracking of action items.
  • Incident confirmation on ARM5.
2. Administrative
Support:
  • Coordinate and provide administrative support
    to the Head of Risk and the Risk Team in accordance with laid down
    policies and procedures.
  • Offer support in improving the efficiency and
    effectiveness of the department through identification of proactive
    opportunities for improvement. Support the metrics and reporting for the
    department
  • Actively participate and coordinate Risk
    forums (meetings, conferences and trainings) including but not limited to
    drafting minutes and agendas, as well as noting and tracking of action
    items.
  • Handling of all incoming and outgoing
    documents and ensuring that they are directed to the right quorum.
  • In charge of diary management of the Head of
    Risk.
  • Supervising the leave schedule and other
    aspects of general staff welfare in the Risk department.
  • Answering routine inquiries in consultation
    with the officer concerned.
  • Managing records, filing and making sure that
    office machines are functioning and appropriately maintained.
  • Maintenance and updating of the Department’s
    activity schedule.
  • Overseeing and ensuring availability of
    office supplies and stationery.
  • Custodian of office keys and duplicate drawer
    keys for office desks and cupboards as appropriate.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned
    from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Stanbic Bank
    Officer MIS Career placement should hold a university degree in a Business
    or a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, operations
    research, management science or statistics
  • At least a year or two years’ data management
    and MIS experience
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a
    banking environment
  • Proven ability to handle and juggle multiple
    tasks simultaneously is critical.
  • Strong analytical and intuitive skills
  • Planning and prioritizing of workload skills.
  • Proven track record in handling stressful
    situations in frontline customer-centred environment governed by tight
    deadlines, high standards and significant work pressure.
  • Excellent needs analysis and diagnostic
    skills to interpret business and market requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of the banking environment.
  • Strong business management and administrative
    support skills
  • Strong in business analysis and reporting
