Independent Development Fund (IDF) is a Ugandan non-political,
non-governmental, not-for-profit grant mechanism, providing support to civil
society organizations to promote human rights, access to justice and social
accountability in Uganda.
Job
Summary:
The Documentation and Communication Officer will be in charge of
strengthening the documentation of results from IDF supported work, facilitate
learning among IDF grantees and other stakeholders and production/publishing of
high quality information materials including videos, fact sheets and journals.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Provide support IDF grantees to document project
results into well packaged products for sharing during learning.
·        
Work in liaison with the Monitoring and Evaluation
Officer to strengthen results management and reporting
·        
Identify and articulate the lessons learned from
each program for strengthening the program development process
·        
Package results and case studies in different publishable
products like newsletters, fact sheets, videos, journals among others
·        
Assist the Programme Results Manager in preparing
and submission of progress reports and other reporting requirements
·        
Support programme staff in organizing and managing
training and learning events of IDF grantees
·        
Generate synthesized grantee reports and case
studies
·        
Collect and analyze data on the impact of IDF’s
programs and identify factors that facilitated or hampered the effective
program implementation
·        
Ensure proper documentation of the communications
materials and knowledge products
·        
Perform any other duties as assigned by the
Programme Results Manager.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
·        
The applicant should preferably hold a bachelor’s
degree in Mass C0mmunication, Journalism, Social Sciences or other related
field from a recognized university. 
Possession of a Master’s degree is an added advantage. Additional
qualifications/experience in the areas of human rights and good governance will
be an added advantage
·        
At least three years of relevant professional
experience, with a bias in communication and advocacy work
·        
Working experience in the media is an added
advantage
·        
The ideal candidates should have broad knowledge
and experience in communication, reporting, documentation, publications, and
audio-visual material preparation in relation to human rights and good
governance fields.
