About USAID UHSC Project:
Sciences for Health (MSH) is implementing a USAID-funded project called the
Uganda Health Supply Chain, a five year program supporting the Government of
Uganda’s health system to improve the availability and accessibility of
essential medicines and health supplies (EMHS). The expected results of are
to:1) strengthen national policies and strategies and support cost-effective,
equitable, and transparent utilization of EMHS resources; 2) strengthen country
capacity for effective management and utilization of EMHS; and 3) increase
availability and access of EMHS among priority populations.
Job Summary: The Senior
Communications Associate will support the USAID Project through growing the visibility
function including capturing and documenting the program deliverables. The
incumbent will also be in charge of producing communications materials and
provide overall communications support to the program.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
In charge of writing and/or editing of program
success stories, capturing and describing the work of the technical managers in
a concise and engaging format
Capturing program activities undertaken by the sub
partners, , in addition to the MoH technical programs.
The incumbent will be updating of and producing a
high quality program brochure, calendars and other publicity and print
Work in liaison with the senior management team and
the technical teams to take program photos for inclusion in progress reports
and other publications
Support UHSC in any other writing or copy editing as
Perform any other duties similar in nature as may be
assigned from time to time by the Senior Operations Officer.
Qualifications, Skills and
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in communication or related field
A minimum of three years’ experience in health
program related communications
Prior exposure and experience in writing health
development related communications articles
Good computer skills, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
essential, and use of software to provide graphic enhancement
Highly self-driven, verbal communicator, with good
presentation skills
