Feasibility studies & Project Proposal Preparation, Human Resource, Risk
Management and Information System Solutions. They would like to recruit for a
valuable client in Manufacturing Industry. The company deals in manufacturing
of various products for the Ugandan market.
Job Summary: The Accountant
will primarily be responsible for financial management and preparation of
financial statements for the company. 
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Responsible for the preparation of payment vouchers
and supporting documentation for both cash and bank payments to suppliers;
·        
Capturing approved payment requests into accounting
software;
·        
Follow up of accountability and advances following
procedures in the accounting manual;
·        
Posting tax invoices and receipts in the accounting
system;
·        
File all accounting documents in a professional
manner;
·        
Filing of monthly VAT,PAYE and NSSF returns and any
other statutory returns;
·        
Manage all remittances to Uganda Revenue Authority
in relation to tax matters and any other government organisations should the
need arise;
·        
Prepare and maintain floating debentures;
·        
Prepare business plans for future projects;
·        
Following up on accounts from the clients and reconciliation
of clients’ accounts;
·        
Prepare Quarterly Financial Reports due for Board of
Directors;
·        
The incumbent will also be providing a support
service by working with all departments and the management team to help make
financial decisions;
·        
Ensure that spending is kept in line with the
budget;
·        
Carry out required inventory counts stock and
costing of stock;
·        
Manage inventory verification and counts on a
periodic basis;
·        
Responsible for analyzing financial performance and
contributing to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts;
·        
Working closely with other Department managers to
put the finances and accounts in context in the business;
·        
In charge of monitoring and evaluating financial
information systems and suggesting improvements where needed;
·        
Prepare weekly/monthly finished goods costing for
the company and provide highlights on any exceptions arising from those costing
and their impact on product pricing;
·        
Perform any other duties that may be assigned to
you.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should preferably hold a good degree
in commerce, Accounting or Business Administration from a recognized University
or relevant discipline;
·        
Minimum part qualification in ACCA, CPA or CIMA is
desirable;
·        
A minimum of five years of related work experience
in a similar busy environment;
·        
Good managerial skills with an ability to make decisions;
·        
Good financial management skills with knowledge of
computer Accounting Packages and good understanding of financial requirements
and tax policies;
·        
Excellent analytical skills and Ability to work
under minimum supervision;
·        
Ability to maintain and keep confidential
information;
·        
Ability to work long hours, multitask assignments
and work under pressure;
·        
Self motivated with demonstrated ability to generate
financial reports and meet set deadlines with good integrity and
confidentiality;
·        
Working knowledge of computerized accounting
software is an added advantage;
·        
Ability to maintain personal professional
development and competencies on financial issues; 
·        
Be a good team player
·        
Excellent interpersonal, excellent communication and
creative thinking skills.
