Job Summary:  The Faculty Deans will serve as the chief
academic and administrative officer of Dean-Faculty of Business and Management
and Dean -Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences leading faculty and staff
of the faculty in planning, securing resources, implementing and evaluating
activities related to academic operations, research, and service. The dean
represents the faculty both internally to the University and externally to the
various stakeholders. In addition, s/he will work collaboratively across
disciplines to promote faculty partnerships and deep learning through learning
communities, service and cooperative learning and other proven pedagogical
strategies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Manages the development of new curricula and the
revision of curricula as needed
·        
Responsible for the preparation and periodic
revision of faculty course syllabi
·        
Recommends faculty course offerings and teaching
assignments for each semester
·        
Technically supports the recruitment, interviews,
and recommends the appointment of highly qualified faculty staff
·        
Coordinates the faculty’s evaluation of
instructional effectiveness and student progress
·        
Provides timely direction to and promotes
professional development among faculty and staff in duties such as teaching
classes, conducting orientation programs, and scheduling events
·        
Promotes effective integration and use of technology
in all aspects of teaching and learning
·        
Provides opportunities for faculty and staff to
participate in professional development
·        
Works in liaison with Department Heads, faculty and
staff to develop and execute enrollment management strategies to affect
recruitment, retention and student success
·        
Plans, administers, and controls budgets; maintains
financial records; and produces financial reports for the faculty
·        
Participates in faculty and committee activities
·        
Establishes operational policies and procedures and
makes any necessary modifications, based on University policy, analysis of
operations, demographics, and other research information
·        
Confers with other academic staff on admission requirements
and course credit policies to ensure consistency in application
·        
Provides guidance to Department Heads in matters of
teaching and learning
·        
Employs ethical standards and inclusive practices to
ensure faculty, staff and student engagement
·        
Participates in professional development activities
·        
Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work
punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the
worksite
·        
Perform any other duties assigned to him/her
professionally from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should preferably hold a doctorate
degree from a recognized accredited college or university with a major in one
of the instructional areas within the academic faculty and graduate coursework
sufficient to teach within the faculty
·        
Significant experience in Lecturing at senior
level  in a comprehensive University
setting;
·        
Working knowledge of effective instructional and
learning assessment methods
·        
Outstanding public speaking ability
·        
Past experience in acquiring external funding
·        
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·        
Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints
from students, faculty staff, regulatory agencies, and other business entities.
·        
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication
that conform to prescribed style and format.
·        
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish
facts and draw valid conclusions to solve problems and plan initiatives
·        
Effective decision making and leadership skills
·        
Working knowledge of existing technology
·        
Team leader and team player
