About EPRC:
The Economic Policy Research Centre
(EPRC) is Uganda’s leading economics research institution. Its mandate is to
provide research and other forms of analytical support to Uganda’s development
process. EPRC uses resources from Government of Uganda and Think Tank
Initiative (TTI) under the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).
The EPRC will be conducting a research in collaboration with UNICEF and NCC.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·        
Conduct
empirical analysis on policy issues affecting children
·        
Actively
coordinate implementation of EPRC/UNICEF capacity development joint initiatives
·        
Based
on research findings and sound analysis, contribute to national policy
discourse
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·        
The
Research Fellow should hold a Master’s degree by coursework & research in
Economics, Development Economics or Statistics from a recognised University;
Recent graduate of doctoral degrees in the fields mentioned have an added
advantage;
·        
At
least six years’ experience in relevant public or private sector institutions
three of which should be in policy-oriented work;
·        
Detailed
working knowledge of, and ability to apply modern economic theory and methods;
·        
Excellent
analytical skills;
·        
Proven
high level writing skills as primary author in published research papers,
review etc.;
·        
Past
experience working with large household survey data sets;
·        
Evidence
of publication of own written articles in either local or international
journals;         Proven ability to use
STATA for data analysis;
·        
Knowledgeable
about current global and national economic issues concerning children;
·        
High-level
interpersonal skills and good communication skills;
·        
Self-motivation
and capability to work under tight deadlines in a competitive environment;
·        
High
degree of integrity
