Build Africa Uganda (BAU) is an
International NGO that has done development work for the last thirty years. BAU
programmes in Uganda focus on income improvement and support to education
improving the quality of Education and income sources for communities with cross-cutting
themes in HIV/AIDS and gender. BAU currently works in the districts of Kumi,
Ngora, Paliisa, Kibuku, Bugiri, Oyam, Bukedea, Masindi, Kiryandongo and
Buliisa.
Job Summary:  The Programme Assistant for the School Water
and Sanitation SWASH Project will oversee the implementation of  high quality projects including, monitoring,
evaluation, and reporting. The incumbent ill ensure the practice and
institutionalization of a culture of innovation and creativity in projects.
This post also supports planning and design processes within the WASH program
at BAU.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the SWASH Programme Assistant career opportunity
    should hold a relevant degree from a recognized University with at least
    (Social Work/ Community Development)
  • A
    minimum of two years’ experience working with development projects,
    preferably with an Water and Sanitation component.
  • Excellently
    organizational and administration skills
  • Ability
    to communicate effectively at a number of different levels and methods
  • Highly
    proactive in thinking and able to question the status quo in their
    day-to-day work.
  • Adult
    facilitation skills
  • Broad
    knowledge and awareness of Child Protection issues
  • Be
    a person of high integrity that will model BAU’s core values.
  • Ability
    to ride a motorcycle with a valid Rider’s permit.
