Job Summary: The cost accountant is accountable for the ongoing analysis of process costing, target setting, costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Intuitively analyzing project requirements information and using it to make business decisions.
· Formulating business strategy to create wealth and shareholder value.
· Performing quarterly review of the company projects to ensure activities are in line with the Budget and Bills of Quantities.
· Monitoring Projects spending and financial control.
· Carrying out internal business audits.
· Offer the monthly management accounts, budget performance reports to aid business planning.
· Get involved in cost analysis and cost-reduction of projects.
· Responsible for strategic and medium term planning.
· Costing Imports and overall inventory management.
· Ensure accuracy of sites stock records.
· Conducting periodic stock taking and monitor stock movements between sites.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicant should hold a good Bachelor’s degree in an accounting or finance background.
· Part II of Professional Accounting Qualification i.e. ACCA, CPA, CIMA etc.
· Commercially minded with strong analysis skills.
· Attention to detail and the ability to work logically, consistently and accurately. Excellent numeracy skills combined with an inquiring, analytical mind.
· Good working knowledge of accounting information, while keeping up to date with changing financial rules and regulations
· Possess the ability to discuss financial issues with both fellow professionals and those with little or no financial background
· Self-motivation and excellent time and project management skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Top-notch interpersonal skills to forge positive working relationships.
