- To appoint,
promote and exercise disciplinary control over persons holding public
office in Parliament; - To review the
terms and conditions of service, standing orders, training and
qualifications of persons holding office in Parliament; - To provide a
Parliamentary reporting service; - To provide such
other staff and facilities as are required to ensure efficient functioning
of the Parliament; - To cause to be
prepared in each financial year, estimates of revenue and expenditure for
the next financial year; and - To make
recommendations to Parliament, or with the approval of Parliament,
determine the allowances payable and privileges available to the Speaker
and Members of Parliament.

will transcribe and edit proceedings of Parliament.

Responsibilities:

- Transcribe audio tapes and carry out a first
edit of parliamentary debates in line with laid down Hansard editing
guidelines - Do verification/clarification of MPs’ speeches
- Collaborate the Members’ log with transcripts
to confirm accuracy - Send transcripts for 2nd edit to the Senior Assistant
Editor of Hansard - Perform any other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant should posses an Honours
Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism and Communication; or
Arts with Literature and English Language Studies (ELS) studied as
subjects, or Arts with Education, majoring in Literature and English
Language Studies (ELS) from a recognized University/Institution - Proficiency in transcribing and editing
- Excellent listening, communication and
interpersonal skills - Ability to work as a member of a team
- Good eye for detail
Age Limit: 21 -27 Years
