Banking Jobs – Chief Manager, Branch Operations at Centenary

Reports to: General Manager Operations
Centenary Bank, the leading Commercial Microfinance Bank in Uganda seeks to recruit suitably qualified, experienced and competent persons in the following fields;
Job Summary: To plan, Develop, co-ordinate and monitor implementation of the Branch operations business and action plan in line with the operational policies/procedures and the regulatory frame work and the bank strategy
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
·         Develop, coordinate and monitor implementation of Branch Operation’s annual work plan in line with the Bank’s business plan, the annual budget, the operational policies/procedures and the regulatory frame work.
·         Set targets, review performance of regions and prepare quarterly status reports in line with the annual work plan.
·         Monitor and Coordinate the process of conducting follow-ups on Regional Operations activities in line with monthly branch performance reports, audit reports, management reports, the annual work plan and the BOU reporting obligations.
·         Plan and co-ordinate the Quarterly strategic Management workshops for senior management, conduct follow up actions on recommendations and generate consolidated periodic status reports on implementation.
·         Monitor and Coordinate the implementation of business continuity/growth initiatives for the different regions and report on trends, risks and opportunities of the business portfolio in line with the best banking practice, operating plan and the strategic plan.
·         Monitor and Co-ordinate the process of opening new branches and other delivery channels in line with the bank’s business growth strategy.
·         To plan, coordinate implementation and review of the customer service strategy of the bank in line with customer service standards, the strategic business goals and the customer expectations
·         Manage the performance and development of line staff and appraise their performance in line with the performance management guidelines, HR policies and programs
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
·         A Bachelors degree Honors Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, and other related disciplines.
·         At least 8 years experience in branch operations, 4 of which at a comparable managerial level in a large financial institution
·         Post graduate qualification’s in Financial management & banking / added advantage
·         Excellent knowledge and understanding of banking regulatory framework Business risk assessment and management
·         Knowledge of best banking practices, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
·         A team player.
·         High level of integrity
