 Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

        The Medical Representative - Acino Pharma AG Switzerland will promote and market   the ACINO range of products   in the Central Region in Ugandan market where   applicable, and ensure   profitable growth of the same Product.

        Expand market for  the ACINO products   all  over  Uganda

        Collect  payments cash  and (or) cheques  from   the  customers  on time  as per the  30 days  credit  period  for  each invoice  supplied.

        To routinely look for  orders  from  customers  and make regular  checkups on them  for   any  change  in  the  stock   supplied them  and  tactfully convince  them  to improve  their  orders.

        Regularly  updating customers      and     their     attendants       of     new developments such  as  new  additional     drugs  on  the  range  as  well   as educating           them   on   the   strategies/benchmarks on  selling   particular products.

        Regularly    asking   customers   the  challenges   they  face   when  selling   or using  the products   and recording   them  so that  the department   can come up with  precise  answers  and give  them feedback  in time.

        Come up with   various   strategies in marketing    that   are result oriented     so   that    they    can   be   reviewed,     implemented     and monitored    to meet the Company set targets.

        Always be smart,   keep time and make a day-to-day   schedule of planned activities.

        To work  hard  and  show  improvement    on sales as per  the sales  targets which  will  be set from  time  to time.

        You’re to make daily,   weekly, monthly,   individual   and group sales reports.

        To propose   various   Marketing   strategies    to be discussed with your line manager.

        Carrying out any other duties assigned to you.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·        Experience apprenticeship programs for youth and families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and Violence against Children are added advantages.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the UNAIDS Country Director (UCD), and direct guidance of the Community Networking Adviser, the incumbent will support the UCO in following tasks:

·        Supporting UNAIDS in bringing the leadership of other UN agencies and communities of people living with HIV, young people, women and key populations to the decision making table on addressing and integrating COVID-19 strategies, funding , evidence based implementations, and monitoring. .

·        Specifically participate at National, and UN COVID-19 technical meetings with a specific focus on MoH and UAC, with regards to their implementation of what is actually planned in communities.

·        Regularly contribute to populating of the UNAIDS COVID-19 portal

·        Identify and support strategic alliances with National and civil society organisations to support tracking and monitoring government accountability in implementing costed HIV plans at district and community level.

·        Support and strengthen alliances between HIV and COVID-19 in relation with civil society organisations, Private Sector companies and other social justice movements at sub-national and district level, including those relating to human rights, women’s rights, access to justice, among others.

·        Knowledge management and sharing of vital information using the same CSO platforms for HIV, and COVID-19 within the community to create trust, buying and ownership by the residents of the community. Specifically liaise with the UNAIDS Strategic information Adviser for dissemination of HIV service disruption reports to key partners

·        In support of “The peoples’ vaccine”, establish and conduct regular dialogue about vaccines and its importance between the community and the UN-family, to establish early on the trust within the community and to ensure that those who need it most are vaccinated first and foremost.

·        Perform any other related duties as assigned.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·        The ideal candidate for the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) Program Officer must hold a Master’s degree in social science, public health, policy, or international development

·        Desirable: Specialization in field of public Health complemented by degree or studies in social science.

·        At least three years of professional experience at national and/or global/regional level, complemented by experience in at least one of the areas of communities led responses, public health and gender equality based programs, policy analysis, international affairs, political and strategic planning.

·        Broad experience in working with and mobilizing a range of external partners.

·        Desirable: Experience in working with the UN system or other multilateral organizations. Experience working with key population networks.

·        Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

In Uganda, AKF operates a multi-sectoral portfolio that includes programming in Education, Economic Inclusion, Civil Society, Health and Early Childhood Development predominantly in the Central and West Nile Regions.

 

About AGENCI Project:

 AKF and World University Service of Canada (WUSC), in partnership with Global Affairs Canada, will be implementing a four-year project to increase the agency and self-empowerment of adolescent girls and female youth in Moyo and Obongi. The Adolescent Girls’ Education in Crisis Initiative (AGENCI) will impact the lives of 148,000 adolescent girls and female youth aged 10-24 by promoting improved equitable learning outcomes in primary and secondary schools including non-school learning programmes. AGENCI will respond to specific barriers and educational needs identified by adolescent girls, female youth, community members, and other education stakeholders to address the root causes of inequality and support transform of structurally entrenched social norms, attitudes, and power relations that limit girls’ ability to access and benefit from education. AGENCI will implement evidence-based programming and incubate locally driven solutions and innovations working in partnership with schools, communities, government and civil society organisations (CSOs).

 

Job Summary:  The Finance & Administration Assistant is responsible for running the AGENCI Project office in Moyo on a day today basis. She/he will ensure the office opened in time, clean and support all logistics including office procurements, courier of documents and other tasks are well managed in line with AKF policies and guidelines. The Finance & Admin Assistant will perform the following specific roles:

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·        Receive and verify documents for requisition of services to ensure adherence to procurement policies and guidelines

·        Maintain a procurement schedule/tracking tool aligned to the various work plans.

·        Source for quotations from pre-qualified suppliers and negotiate for best prices and value

·        Prepare comparative bid analysis with recommendations & justification and facilitate approval

·        Raise LPOs for approval and issue the same to vendors /suppliers

·        Receive and verify the goods supplied to Unit.

·        Compile documentation to support payment of goods and services rendered to AKF

·        Generate various procurement reports as guided.

·        Support in the vendor/supplier pre-qualification exercise & coordinate service tender/RFQ processes

·        Liaise with the Area Finance Officer to ensure timely processing of payments, VAT claims and DA1 forms (in case of tax exemption/refund claims).

·        Management of office cash imprest, review cash payment request and prepare cash payment vouchers.

·        Manage fixed assets inventory and registers.

·        Support the program team in management of activity advances including participant’s verification and carrying out facilitation payments at activity sites

·        Pre –review /check activity advance requests, accountabilities and reports, staff claims and accountabilities for activity advances.

·        Check time sheets to ensure staff have correctly recorded their time and allocated it appropriate grants and projects.

·        Review vehicle movement log sheet and allocate costs to appropriate cost centres/projects.

·        Support the Area Finance Offer to ensure orderly filing and maintenance of accounting vouchers and transactions support documents.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·        The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance Option)

·        At least two (2) years financial administration experience;

·        Ability to use own initiative and actively look for opportunities to have an impact rather than simply be reactive

·        Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products Word, Excel and PPT and other relevant software and tools

·        Ability to work under pressure and efficiently handle multiple tasks;

·        Ability to work under own initiative or as a part of a team; and

·        Excellent written and spoken English
