Job Summary:  The Shelter and Infrastructure Assistant – Engineering mainly provides   technical support within Shelter and Infrastructure and Water Resources Management area, and assist in planning, implementation and follow up of sector activities

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·        Set up, plan, supervise and monitor the implementation of the infrastructure activities.

·        Participate in the planning process and in the validation of Parish Development Plans (PDPs).

·        Supervise and monitor the work of masons, participating communities and contractors

·        Support baseline data collection and implementation of the technical and economic/impact assessment.

·        Request materials to be purchased and ensure the right materials are delivered.

·        Assess the activities undertaken and ensure efficient use of resources.

·        Together with the Shelter and Infrastructure Officer, work on project technical reports.

·        Liaise with all internal and external stakeholders of the infrastructure projects.

·        Ensure the Protection and Safety of workers/beneficiaries at project sites in close collaboration with the Shelter and Infrastructure Officer and Team Leader-. Shelter and Infrastructure

·        Ensure regular communication between communities at the project implementation sites and DRC.

·        In consultation with the Shelter and Infrastructure Officer, facilitate approval of site settings for specific Infrastructure and   Water Resources Management works activities

·        Monitor progress of Infrastructure and   Water Resources Management activities on day to day basis to ensure that Communities and contracted companies comply with approved specifications and work plan

·        Liaise with the Shelter and Infrastructure Officer and Team Leader – Shelter and Infrastructure to share possible obstacles to ongoing activities in order to seek for best solutions.

·        Provide update/ highlights on progress of civil works activities on weekly basis.

·        Ensure adequate and timely supply of materials by suppliers and contracted companies in order to minimize unnecessary delays or interruptions of the works in accordance with the work plan.

·        Ensure contractors avail adequate labour force, visitors register books and instruction notebooks on site.

·        Liaise with District Engineering Departments to allocate sites necessary for development of infrastructures.

·        Document and share key lessons and recommendations based on performance of specific contractors in order to help improve the quality of other Infrastructure and   Water Resources Management works

·        In liaison with the Shelter and Infrastructure Officer, prepares designs and BoQs for any additional works identified during implementation of specific civil works contracts and accordingly advice the NURI team on other available cost effective means.

·        Take lead in guiding the NURI Team and government counterparts during joint field inspections to specific implementation sites.

·        Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

·        The ideal candidate for the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) Shelter and Infrastructure Assistant – Engineering job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in civil/ construction engineering or other related field.

·        At least 3 years of practical field experience in construction works for bachelor degree holders and 5 years’ experience for diploma holders. Experience in Uganda is an added advantage.

·        Experience in technical assessment and screening of infrastructure works

·        Experience in setting out roads, drainage structures, water ponds, valley tanks etc

·        Experience in Supervision of Shelter and Infrastructure works.

·        Experience in managing work force

·        Ability to understand and clearly interpret works specifications and drawings

·        Ability to use engineering soft wares such as AutoCAD and MS office packages.

·        Languages: English. Lugbara, Madi, Alur

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·        Provide mental health nursing care, treatment and follow-up of patients within the scope of his/her professional competencies, and refer patients with conditions falling beyond his competencies, according to the context, MSF and other agreed protocols and universal hygiene standards/precautions, in order to ensure the quality and continuity of care for the targeted population.

·        Organize and carry out mental health consultations, care and treatments according to MSF or other agreed protocols and refer patients to other health professionals whenever necessary in order to provide the most appropriate treatment.

·        Detect cases with need of psychological or psychiatric care and refer them to the psychotherapists or psych clinical officers.

·        When needed, give psychological support to patients according to MSF protocols to improve mental health conditions of patients and enhance their functionality

·        Participate in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary, informing the patient and his/her relatives about the possible consequences of the illness and drug treatment to follow in order to improve the patient's condition.

·        Promote and maintain confidentiality regarding all patient cases and records.

·        Participate in the department-related pharmacy management when requested (carrying out inventories, requesting re-supply, check storage conditions, doing follow-up of expired drugs, etc.)

·        Participate in the process of data collection and reporting when requested.

·        If applicable, identify Sexual Violence survivors and refer them to the medical team, so they can receive the necessary treatment.

·        Know and be aware of the importance and appropriate use of the Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)

·        In addition to general mental health conditions and medical conditions falling under mental health in Uganda (e.g. epilepsy), provide consultation, diagnosis, treatment (both medical and psychological) and prevention for the following specific conditions: reactions to violence and trauma, bereavement and loss, survivors of sexual and gender-based violence.

·        Adapt consultations and treatments to children to provide child-friendly services.

·        Identify and assess referral destinations for higher level care and propose ways MSF could support these destinations if necessary.

·        Liaise with other actors providing mental health and psychosocial care for good coordination of activities and appropriate referral networks.

·        Identify children and adults with special needs and refer accordingly.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·        The applicant must be a Psychiatric Nurse degree/diploma and registered with the appropriate health professions Council of Uganda

·        At least two years of previous experience and previous experience in other NGOs

·        Desirable computer literacy (word, excel and internet)

·        Languages: English essential. Desirable local languages: Kakwa (Pojulu Bari), Arabic and Lugbara (Aringa)

Job Summary:  The Data Clerk will assist the DREAMS Monitoring and Evaluation function in the respective districts and ensure that all that, the SOPs and updated data collection tools are available, high quality data is collected/recorded, entered into the respective registers and online tracking systems. The data clerk will also generate custom and standard reports as necessary to respond to program and donor needs. The Data Clerk will report to the Senior Strategic Information & Evaluation Officer 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·        Ensure all DREAMS spaces at both the facility and community level have all the standard and current tools for data capture and reporting;

·        Avail standard operating procedures (SOPs) for enrollment and provision of unique identifiers for AGYW;

·        Support peer group leaders to ensure tracking of layering services at both facility and community levels;

·        File the service recipient charts at end of each working day in line with laid out standard operating procedure

·        Ensure entry of all data on DREAMS services into the Uganda DREAMS Tracker (UDTS) in a timely manner

·        Ensure no accumulation of backlogs of data un-entered in the UDTS

·        Verify accuracy of data on the service recipient charts before it is entered into the UDTS database

·        Work to reconcile inconsistencies in monthly data reports in collaboration with the peers group leaders

·        Ensure the combined DREAMS group registers are updated in a timely manner

·        Plan and attend weekly meetings with peer group leaders at the facility and community level for each sub county assigned to ensure data in the UDTS is synchronized and updated

·        Retrieve information as requested or otherwise necessary, summarize data in preparation for standardized reports to facilitate donor reporting, program management monitoring and activity planning;

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·        The Data Clerks should hold a degree in Medical/Bio-statistics/Data Science/Mathematical Statistics, Population Studies/Demography, Economic and Statistics from a reputable institution.

·        A minimum of two years of progressive professional experience working in data management

·        Knowledge of medical records management procedures

·        Good working knowledge of computer with ability to operate various Microsoft word-processing software, spreadsheets

·        Team player with good interpersonal relationships and tolerance to socio-cultural differences.

·        Efficient and effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills; ability to follow instructions provided in verbal or written format.

·        Ability to multi-task effectively and adhere to timelines.

Job Summary:  Reporting directly to the Procurement and Logistics Officer, you will perform work in the operation of MUCOBADI vehicles to assure safe transportation of authorized personnel among whom are: beneficiaries, partners and staff to and from various destinations. You will receive direction and route assignments from your supervisor.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·        Maintenance of the vehicles as required and complete the log books with all the required details.

·        Maintain all vehicles entrusted to you and keep them clean at all times, be responsible for reporting the condition of the vehicles. Services requirements, unusual noises, areas needing attention or other malfunctions and ensure that the vehicles are checked without delay.

·        Be responsible for maintaining vehicle records, such as purpose of trip, mileage and vehicle maintenance.
