Job Summary:   The Project Accountant is responsible for implementing the finance and accounting (F&A) systems, policies, and procedures in line with the WWF Project guidelines supporting conservation.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Planning and Budgeting.
  • In liaison with the programme teams prepare donor budgets in line with donor guidelines and WWF UCO rules especially on cost recovery.
  • Review detailed budgets of downstream partners for alignment and compliance with donor regulations.
  • Cash and Bank Transactions management.
  • Prepare project monthly bank reconciliations for assigned projects.
  • Advise the GFA and FAM on budget availability and expense eligibility.
  • Prepare cheques/bank transfers for approved payments.
  • Responsible for imputing of receipts, payments, staff and partner accountabilities into the ORACLE system in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for receipting and prompt banking of cash receipts and issuing receipts to respective payers.
  • Cost recovery.
  • Review monthly project reports to ensure planned recoveries are charged timely and advise the GFA appropriately.
Financial Reporting
  • Responsible for preparing donor reports as per the agreed formats.
  • Prepare monthly budget performance reports for each assigned project for budget holders.
  • In liaison with budget holders ascertain and document budget variance and address discrepancies.
  • Participate in project inception and periodic review meetings and provide appropriate financial status update and guidance to teams.
  • Follow up on periodic reporting (accountability) from implementing partners as per agreed schedule and ensure prompt update of the same in the system promptly.
  • Ensures balance sheet reconciliation for project specific General ledgers including supplier, partner and staff debtors & creditors.
  • Financial Sustainability
  • Ensure cost control and timely cost recovery from grants.
  • Actively participate in fundraising processes and provide financial support.
Compliance and Risk Management.
  • Ensure all reported project expenses meet the eligibility criteria.
  • Prepare monthly PAYE,NSSF returns and VAT claims
  • In liaison with project teams ensure that all identified risks are assessed and that project specific risk registers are updated.
  • Implement the internal control framework and advise management on any identified areas of potential risk
Internal and external Audits Management.
  • Support Pre-audit (expense verification) of donor projects.
  • Support the external audit of projects through provision of required information by the auditors.
  • Provide responses to the auditors on any issues raised or refer to the appropriate authority for response
  • Track and report on agreed audit actions and ensure timely resolution.
  • Partner support and capacity building.
  • Conduct periodic partner trainings on financial management based on changes in internal policies and recommendations from reviews.
  • Undertake Partner monitoring visits to review progress, identify risks and offer hands-on financial support with any identified gaps.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Project Accountant job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
  • At least level 2 of CPA/ACCA.
  • A minimum of  two years of experience in finance and accounting of donor funded projects.
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Experience of working in an NGO or a civil society organisation working on monitoring and evaluation.

Job Summary:  The Medical Supply Chain Officer primarily supports in monitoring and providing on-site support of medical logistics management in the supported districts/health facilities according to MOH standards. He/she will ensure close monitoring of medicines and health supplies. He/she will further ensure adequate supply of quality medicines, responding to dynamic changes in demand, managing increased volumes of commodities and minimizing pilferage and misuse..

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Support health facilities to develop pharmacy systems and annual procurement plans.
  • Provide technical assistance, mentorships and CMEs in medicines and health supplies management and disseminate information updates regarding logistics management.
  • Support health facilities in ordering and reporting for medicines and health supplies as per the warehouse schedule.
  • Support health facilities and medicine management supervisors to implement RX solution, RASS and SPARS and submit timely required reports.
  • Strengthen pharmacovigilance and adherence issues in the supported health facilities.

Job Summary: The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will provide leadership to WWF Uganda team, in designing, implementing projects and programmes, undertaking baselines, provide technical support, monitoring and evaluation of programmes for sustainable conservation work, documenting lessons learnt, and building staff capacity.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation strategy for WWF Uganda Country Office (UCO) and related activities in support of the WWF UCO Conservation Programme
  • Coordinates the UCO’s programme activities and documents results, impacts and best practices from the programme implementation and ensure exchange and dissemination of lessons learnt;
  • Provides technical support by collating, analyzing, consolidating monitoring data, and preparing reports of the programmes’ activities and processes as required by WWF international, WWF UCO, ROA, respective donors and other stakeholders, using the monitoring tools in place; [Reporting templates, Dashboard, Strategic Plan Monitoring System (SPMS,) APMS], while ensuring compliance to reporting schedules and network standards;
  • Prepare consolidated progress reports for projects/programme management including identification of problems, causes of potential bottlenecks in implementation, and providing specific recommendations to ensure that the organisation attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible;
  • Facilitates knowledge management processes, including documentation, sharing, learning and adaptive management, thereby building the monitoring and evaluation capacity amongst WWF UCO staff;
  • Build monitoring and evaluation capacity amongst UCO staff;
  • Supports projects/ programmes to ensure their effective design/ planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting, using the WWF network standards and other recommended practices;
  • Leads monitoring visits and consultations on the review of progress on a periodic basis and encourage stakeholders’ involvement at all stages;
  • Collaborates with implementing partners and other stakeholders to develop feasible and effective discussion events where M&E data is analyzed and corrective actions can be agreed upon;
  • Undertakes validation exercises as may be required by WWF UCO, including programme assessments, verification of progress towards targets, indicators and/or implementation of M&E recommendations
  • Drafts TORs for external evaluations
  • Undertakes and/or supervises baselines surveys to obtain data to evaluate the projects/ programmes outcomes and impacts;
  • Develops, implements and controls the monitoring and evaluation budget;


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies or related subjects;
  • Advanced degree will be an added advantage.
  • Advanced training in Monitoring and Evaluation
  • At least seven years working experience in monitoring and Evaluating environmental related issues and/ or development context.
  • Good understanding of Programme development steps, and especially the Programme and Project Management Standards (PPMS) of WWF network and /or similar;
  • Experience in practical field implementation of Natural Resources Management and related results based management oriented monitoring system;
  • Strong knowledge of M&E practices and methodologies
  • Experience in undertaking baselines, and in planning, design and implementation of M&E systems;
