Job Summary:   The incumbent will drive organisational motor vehicles and carry out basic vehicle checks to enable people move from one place to another to carry out official business of the Authority.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Drive organization vehicles to enable people move from one place to another to meet the organization objectives.
  • Keep organization vehicles mechanically sound in line with Uganda traffic laws.
  • Renew organization vehicle licenses in line with vehicle policy and traffic laws;
  • Capture data on individual vehicles for repairs and service;
  • Verify all repairs and service done by the respective garages;
  • Verify requisition form for vehicle maintenance;
  • Ensure compliance of regulations of vehicle maintenance;
  • Capture data on monthly fuel consumption for individual vehicles (routine);
  • Provide update on status of insurance and car tracking facilities;
  • Assist in scheduling vehicles for weekly/monthly washing;
  • Report all motor  vehicles incidents in line with the Authority’s guidelines

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the NITA-U Driver job placement should hold a Uganda Ordinary Certificate of Education or its equivalent;
  • At least 3 driving classes plus valid driving license;
  • A certificate in Defensive Driving or basic mechanical engineering qualification is an added advantage
  • Ability to ride motor cycle with a valid riding licence is an added advantage
  • A minimum of three years of driving experience with a reputable public or private commercial or donor funded organization
  • Communications: Very good communication skills (spoken and written), including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences on environmental related matters, good negotiation skills and to prepare a variety of written documents, contracts, reports, etc. in a clear, concise style.

Job Summary:  The Driver is responsible for facilitating the movement of FAO personnel and Visitors of FAO Uganda as and when assigned. He / she ensures the safety, technical soundness and comfort of the vehicle(s) assigned. The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Representative-Administration, with a multiple reporting relationship to, the Logistics Assistant, the Head Driver, the Heads of field Office, and the project manager where such a driver is posted in the field office.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
General Tasks:
  • Facilitate movement of the FAO personnel and the FAO official visitors on official trips as necessary. 
  • Meet staff and official visitors at the airport; facilitate immigration, customs formalities, hotel check-in, and other local formalities.
  • Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, transportation / vehicle related expenditures, vehicle servicing, repairs, etc.
  • Ensure day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle(s); checks oil, water, battery, tires, etc.; perform minor repairs and timely arrange for any other repairs necessary to keep the vehicle safe and technically sound at all times; maintain the vehicle(s) in clean conditions.
  • Handle local and organizational formalities when involved in an accident; ensure that in this case all organizational and local / country rules, regulations and procedures are followed correctly.
  • Collect and deliver mail, documents, pouches, and other communications / items from and to the country office or field office; go to the post office, airport, government agencies, other UN agencies, institutions, project sites, etc., to take and deliver items and communications; keep records as required.
  • When needed, assist the country office/field staff in performing simple clerical duties such as making and answering telephone calls, making photocopies, keeping records, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Driver job opportunity should hold a High school certificate or Diploma in any field.
  • A minimum of five years of driving experience preferably in the UN or a reputable international organisation.
  • National of Uganda

Job Summary:   The Driver will be responsible for administrational support to the institution in the areas of maintaining a sound fleet of company vehicles, in good conditions and aiding the business to swiftly deliver as expected bearing in mind the compliance to occupational health and safety and brand of UGAFODE (MDI) among others.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  •  Managing vehicle conditions: Responsible for managing UGAFODE’s vehicles/property in good working condition at all times. I.e. mechanical cleanliness, and with valid licenses so as to efficiently and effectively enhance business operations.
  • Vehicle cost containment: Monitors mileage and ensure mechanical services are done efficiently and on time and within budget so as not to compromise on business expectations thereof.
  •   Ensures prudent management of company fuel card including requisitions for fuel, fuel usage and reporting from time to time.
  •  Reporting on monthly basis pertaining to the condition and status of company assets (vehicles) within your control and supervision.
  • Budgeting for fleet management in terms of fuel on daily basis, vehicle servicing, licenses, perdiem while away on duty and seeking for approvals in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring accountability is done within time and regularly for all bank expenses advanced for fuel and vehicle maintenance services as well as reimbursable.
  • Scheduling and coordination of movements by staff, fellow drivers and company vehicles to minimize business interruptions with the business units and Administration department.
  • Responsible for maintaining UGAFODE (MDI) brand visibility on all vehicles to minimize reputational risk to the bank at all times.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  •  The ideal  candidate for UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) – Driver must have a Minimum of Advanced certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent

The ICRC Tracing team, in cooperation with Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS), provides services to people separated by conflicts and other situations of violence in order to search for their family members and re-establish contact between them, especially unaccompanied children.

Job Summary:  The Vehicle Fleet Manager oversees management of the fleet of ICRC vehicles so that operational needs are met, working in strict compliance with the standards set at headquarters. S/he carries out effective and efficient resource planning and scheduling for ICRC and non-ICRC owned vehicles within the operational area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Vehicle/Generator management
  • Determines needs in terms of the fleet and maximizes its efficiency and effectiveness through planned resource allocation in accordance with guidelines.
  • Manages and carries out controls of the fleet stock and spare parts inventory in accordance with guidelines.
  • Provides technical input in the decision-making process regarding private transport services under contract, especially freight transport and passengers transport with private taxi companies.
  • Manage and supervise the planning of maintenance and repairs of all fleet units including generators.
  • Coordinates with out-sourced workshops regarding maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensures that surveys of local workshops and of local spare parts suppliers are done regularly, to get the best service at the best price and quality.
  • Ensures that all vehicles are in compliance with internal and national traffic rules and insurance requirements.
  • Ensure all security measures and safety standards are in place for vehicles and transport and that they are adhered to by the vehicle users.
  • Supervise management of all vehicles registration/documentation.
  • Prepares vehicle orders and in collaboration with Head of Logistics, supervises the disposal or donation of vehicles (e.g. request for disposal approval, participate in the administrative disposal processes).
  • Provides Fleet related data for annual budget preparation.
  • Ensures that wastes generated by vehicles and generators are treated in an ecofriendly manner, in order to reduce negative impacts on the environment.
Fuel Management
  • Manages and carries out controls on fuel supplies, for which S/he has final accountability and carries out contingency planning.
  • Responsible for timely re-fuelling vehicles and keeping safe custody of fuel cards and “Blue Keys”
  • Manage fuel tax refund claims with Ministry of Foreign Affairs/URA
Vehicle dispatch management
  • Supervises and manages the drivers and regulates their movements, to ensure reduction in fatigue for safety drive;
  • Coordinate travels to ensure all requested field travels are well managed for operations continuity.
  • Test drive new vehicle users and give them induction on vehicle usage and ICRC policy governing vehicle use.
  • Arrange for airport travels as requested by the Travel office to ensure all pick up and drop offs are consistently executed.
Fleet database management
  • Acts as the administrator of the Fleet & tracking system applications and uses them to generate reports; analyses the report and takes corrective action.
  • Controls the consistency in fleet data entries related to vehicles and monitors the tracking system.
Staff Management
  • Supervises the performance management & development of employees under direct supervision.
  • Engages in ongoing and continuous feedback and support, particularly for employees under their supervision, but also other staff members
  • Ensures that job descriptions for employees under their supervision are up to date
  • Ensure the drivers adhere to the local traffic regulations.
  • Participate in recruitment of drivers including conducting practical driving tests

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Vehicle Fleet Manager job must hold a Degree in Automotive & Power engineering or Mechanical engineering or Degree in Transport & Logistics with training in mechanics.
  • Three to five years of experience in the same field
  • Good computer skills especially in MS Excel & Word and databases
  • Master 4WD and HF/VHF radio use
  • Good command of spoken and written English

Job Summary:  The Driver is responsible for driving the assigned project vehicle and the maintenance of this vehicle.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Keep vehicle clean;
  • Operate vehicle in a safe and courteous manner and always follow road safety standards;
  • Regularly inspect the vehicle and regularly perform general maintenance services as specified in the vehicle manual in order to keep the vehicle in good condition;
  • Advise the Administration team and the CIP Uganda Country Manager in due course on minor or major repairs as soon as a problem is detected;
  • Take vehicle at regular intervals for servicing as specified in the vehicle manual, in consultation with CIP Uganda office;
  • Drive the Project Manager, Nutritionist and other CIP project team to the field as needed or as decided by the Project Manager, Nutritionist;
  • Assist in the delivery of mail, equipment, supplies, documents to partners and other institutions as required;
  • Assist in any other activity as needed;
  • Update the vehicle logbook on a daily basis with the trips undertaken indicating start kms, end kms, the trip description and who was responsible for the trip;
  • Send copy of vehicle logbook at the end of each month for the respective month to the CIP Uganda office for charging mileage costs to CIP Tanzania project (Forgotten Crops Project) and different partners;
  • Liaise regularly with Project Manager, Nutritionist and provide weekly updates on activities;
  • Report accidents to the CIP Uganda office, the CIP Uganda Country Manager and the police as soon as they occur;
  • Any other duties that may be allocated by Project Manager, Nutritionist.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The candidate should have a minimum of knowledge in technical studies;
  • At least two years of relevant experience including 4 X 4 experience in rough terrains with a safe driving record;
  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Driver’s license class A, B, C, E;
  • Basic mechanic knowledge;
  • Certificate of good conduct;

Job Summary:  The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services to the operations and program staff (including consultants) in the Office. Drive official vehicles for the transport of UNAIDS staff, officials and visitors, meeting personnel and visitors at the airport and assisting them with basic visa and customs formalities when required; and ensure the delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through adequate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports, as well as the proper day-to-day maintenance, including minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes and water levels, car washing, etc so that the vehicle is clean and in good running condition at all times.
  • Safe-keep all the required documents/supplies such as insurance, registration papers, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and other spare parts, as well as keeping track of insurance and other tax formalities.
  • As required, provide informal interpretation services from/to the local language for the head of the office and official personnel using the car.
  • Provide general office assistance to office staff, including but not limited to filing, photocopying and maintaining stocks of stationary; in the mailing and distribution of newsletters and publications; payments of office telephone and other bills, as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including provision of support as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) Driver job should have completed secondary school, or relevant technical or vocational training. Must have a valid and clean driver's license.
  • Training or demonstrated knowledge of vehicle mechanic.
