Job Summary:  The Arts Manager will support the East Africa Arts Programme Managers and the wider British Council team, to deliver an engaging East Africa Arts programme including key areas of work as required across Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda that works to British Council’s East Africa Arts programme and builds knowledge and understanding between the UK and East Africa..

 

This role requires a clear understanding of project management, monitoring and evaluation and team management and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders in the cultural scene and beyond, in order to deliver effectively. You will make a major contribution to the successful of the British Council’s East Africa Arts programme and ensure effective delivery and impact of the East Africa Arts programme. You will report to Programme Manager East Africa (Operations Lead) and in Country Country-Directors whilst working closely with arts stakeholders in Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.  As with any business that experiences peaks and troughs of activity, there is likely to be a need to work outside office hours from time to time.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

 The successful candidate will need to possess the following requirements:

·        Good knowledge and use of social media for the promotion of cultural activities;

·        Strong organisational skills and attention to detail;

·        Ability to work effectively with tight deadlines.

·        Be proficient in spoken and written English

·        Relevant post-secondary school qualification or comparable experience

·        Experience of complex project management

·        Experience of financial and narrative reporting

·        Experience of monitoring and evaluation

·        Experience of working with arts sector

 

Desirable

Job Summary:  Reporting to the Senior Manager- Credit Support and Monitoring, the role holder will value and render quick and accurate professional opinion, expertise, and information to the Bank on/of Bank properties as well as those offered as collateral security.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

 Portfolio Quality monitoring;

·        Provide a second opinion on valuations received from external valuers.

·        Improve the quality of assets held as security.

·        Monitor progress of on-going bank financed projects.

·        Validation of the status of the Banks properties.

·        Maintain, coordinate, and supervise a panel of external valuers.

·        Evaluate performance of external valuers by sampling their work on regular basis.

·        Expedite valuation of selected properties presented/proposed as security particularly specialized, high value, urgent and complex properties and property/projects under recovery and advise of their value (i.e. Market Value, forced sale value, and Insurance value), marketability and suitability as collateral security.

·        Originate and maintain standard valuation guidelines and procedures for the Bank.

·        Evaluate and monitor on-going developments projects.

·        Advise the Bank on major developments on the property market on a regular basis.

·        Maintain an up-to-date database of all valued properties.

·        Track expired valuation reports and follow them up for re-valuation as per policy guidelines.

·        Valuation of collateral prior to liquidation in accordance with the Mortgage Act.

·        Developing a tracking and monitoring mechanism for all expired valuation reports and follow up for re-valuation as per policy guidelines.

·        Working closely with Credit Managers and Relationship Managers (RMs) to implement remedial plans by recommending appropriate actions for non-compliant customers.

·        Periodically accompanying RMs to client visits and/or meetings to address credit risk matters.

·        Ensuring escalation of issues within the agreed timelines.

Governance and Controls;

·        Ensuring that all processes adhere to laid down controls and procedures in accordance with Bank policies and Prudential Guidelines issued by the Central Bank and any other relevant regulatory requirements.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·        The applicant for the DFCU Bank Senior Manager- Property Valuations job must be a        Graduate/Professional qualification in Valuation Surveying.

·        A minimum of three years of post-registration working experience in the industry in a senior position.

·        Sound knowledge of Banking processes and procedures.

·        Duly registered surveyor (of Uganda) and holder of valid practicing certificate.

·        Self-drive, maturity and high degree of integrity and professionalism.

·        Good client and interpersonal relations.

·        Good interpretation and decision-making ability.

Job Summary:   The Manager Security will be responsible for the oversight of Physical Security and Safety of OBL Premises, Assets, Employees and Customers.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·        Plan and Source suitable security firms to be contracted for supply of armed guards to ensure safety and security of the bank premises and business operations.

·        Draw up security work plans, periodically review Security Operating Standards and ensure there are no gaps that could expose the bank to eminent threats of insecurity.

·        Coordinate deployment of external security, review records of guards to guarantee they are up to date and accurate and, sensitize guards on how to handle customers in line with the bank’s guidelines and strategic objectives.

·        Monitor and identify all the security risks that are likely to impact bank’s operations and, appropriately advise the bank on mitigation measures as well as follow up and coordinate investigation of all the reported cases in which the bank has interest.

·        Manage the Biometric access system to ensure access/restriction to the offices/ certain areas and make adjustments to the existing configured staff from the system.

·        Monitor CCTV Cameras and guarantee that they are properly positioned to make proper recordings.

·        Monitor the performance of security equipment control & functionality of the security gadgets and promptly report any malfunction and ensure repairs/replacements are done in a timely manner.

·        Manage intrusion alarm systems of the entire Bank and confirm that it is up and running at all times, arm and disarm the intrusion alarm as and when required, carry out periodical tests on the system to confirm its functionality.

·        Manage placement of fire equipment and ensure that fire extinguishers are serviced are in proper condition.

·        Coordinate with the police to conduct the fire drill periodically, monitor fire signals and manage & control the custody of Bank vehicles.

·        Carry out general surveillance in and around the bank, during and after working hours in order to curtail any imminent threats of attack against the bank that might be detrimental to the daily operations.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·        The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business / Security Related Field.

·        A specialized certification, completed Military, Police Service/Experience is an added advantage.

·        Completion/Partial completion of relevant professional qualification in Security Management is an added advantage.

·        At least three years of experience in Security Management in the Banking sector or other corporate organisations.

·        Experience in Senior Law Enforcement; military/police/intelligence.

·        Prior experience in investigations.
