Windle International Uganda is the lead partner of UNHCR in implementing Education Projects in Uganda with close collaboration with the Government of Uganda through the Office of the Prime Minister.

Job Summary: The Tutor- Motor Vehicle Mechanics  will support the provision of Vocational Training to the People of Concern in the designated location in the particular field of Motor Vehicle Mechanics. The Tutor for Motor Vehicle Mechanics will conduct daily trainings and classes in the Motor Vehicle Mechanics Course for the Vocational Students. The Tutor will also support the daily running of the M.V Mechanics Department and workshop under the direct supervision of the Principal. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Intuitively prepares the schemes of work and lesson plans in line with approved curriculum.
  • Contribute significantly and regularly to the teaching programmes of the department and the entire VTC.
  • Prepare and deliver suitable, quality course material for students, in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Regularly set and mark both theory and practical assessments, in accordance with the existing vocational and Ministry of Education standards; also responsible for administering external national examinations/assessments from DIT/UBTEB.
  • Prepare departmental reports, records of work, and submit the same for inspection by the Head of department and/or the Principal.
  • Undertake the recording of student attendances, in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Exercise care in the use of equipment, and reporting faults to the appropriate authority.
  • Recommend the purchase of appropriate books, audio-visual materials, software, equipment, training materials and other materials relevant to the department.
  • Keep and maintain departmental records / inventory (Registers, records of work, progress reports, financial records and equipment.)
  • Guides and counsels students.
  • Performs any other duty assigned by the relevant authority.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Windle International Uganda (WIU) Tutor- Motor Vehicle Mechanics job must hold a  Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Motor vehicle Mechanics) OR Diploma in Automobile Engineering OR Advanced Certificate in MV Mechanics.
  • CTTE (Certificate in Technical Teacher Education) preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience as a Tutor/Instructor in a Technical Institution preferred.
  • Knowledge or prior exposure to humanitarian operations a plus.
  • Strong entrepreneurship skills.
  • Leadership skills, displaying courage and conviction.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills.
  • Academic ability as well as an ability to understand and communicate with those who struggle in education.
  • A desire to work with young adults especially those affected by conflict.
  • Prioritisation, planning and organising skills.
  • Being able to work as part of a diverse team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to the deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills.

Job Summary:  The Office Cleaner will provide quality cleaning services at the Head Quarters that includes tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, emptying bins, and polishing surfaces to ensure the neatness, cleanliness and general hygiene of the entire office.  He/ She will also provide support at the Office kitchen by providing service to the Staff and other authorized persons on a daily basis.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·         General Cleaning: Sweep and mop the floors, wipe all surfaces, Dust/polish all surfaces including equipment on a daily basis
·         Thoroughly clean the lavatories including sinks, taps and draining boards on a daily basis
·         Notify administration when cleaning materials and kitchen supplies are running low so that they can be ordered centrally
·         Prepare a schedule for and conduct deep/ spring cleaning of the office on a periodic basis
·         Ensure that basic kitchen and lavatory necessities are available at all times
·         Kitchen service: Serve tea and other meals to staff
·         Empty all trash cans and bins daily
·         Assist staff with related tasks when called upon
·         Perform any other duties related to the position that  may be assigned from time to time


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·         The ideal candidate for the Office Cleaner job must hold a UCE Certificate.
·         A minimum of two years of relevant experience in professional cleaning (professional referees’ details should be attached)
·         Excellent command of the English Language
·         Experience working in NGO setting is an added advantage 
·         Home Management and Catering skills
·         Ability to be confidential; this is vital
·         A highly organized and neat individual

Kakira Sugar Works was formed in 1985 as a Joint Venture between the Madhvani Group and the Government of Uganda to take over the assets of Madhvani Sugar Works Ltd., which was the Group’s flagship prior to 1972. At the time of take-over in 1985, owing to the economic turmoil in the intervening years as well as inadequate management whilst under Government control, the factory was no longer in production and most of the nucleus estate had reverted to bush.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Tasked with collecting and analysing samples from fermentation, distillation, alcohol storage, water treatment, bio digester and boiler (in regular shifts)
  • Yeast propagation work from lab stage to fermentation level.
  • DCS control operation work.
  • Assisting fermentation, distillation, bio- digester, water treatment plant and distillery related process operations.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • Applicants should be holders of Bachelor of Chemical Engineering or Bachelor of Food Processing Technology from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Not required. Fresh graduates may apply and will undergo on job training in the distillery plant.

The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) is a statutory body established under Section 9 of the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act 2013, and in line with the National Oil and Gas Policy for Uganda which was approved in 2008. The PAU’s mandate is to monitor and regulate the exploration, development and production, together with the refining, gas conversion, transportation and storage of petroleum in Uganda. This includes ensuring that petroleum operations in Uganda are carried out in accordance with the relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, statutes and in line with international best practice for the petroleum industry.

Job Summary:  The Senior Environment Officer reports to the Manager Environment and is responsible for coordinating the monitoring and regulation of Environment matters in the petroleum industry.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Contribute to the planning, budgeting and reporting role for the directorate
  • Participate in the drafting of PAU’s Health, Safety and Environment Policy;
  • Coordinate the review and documentation of advice on environment reports including project briefs, environment and social impact statements, environment audit reports and environment monitoring reports;
  • Review company operations to ensure that environmental safeguards are integrated therein;
  • Monitor and report on the compliance of licensees with all relevant environment legislation, standards, guidelines and international best practice;
  • Ensure the Environment database is updated regularly;
  • Ensure monthly environment reports are prepared and submitted;
  • Coordinate PAU’s participation and/proposition for review of the legislation related to environment;
  • Coordinate PAU’s participation in the formulation of quality control standards for the oil and gas sector;
  • Coordinate the monitoring of waste management in the oil and gas sector;
  • Monitor licensees to ensure they integrate Environment Management Systems in all their operations;
  • Coordinate field inspections and monitoring of operations;
  • Monitor the implementation of licensees Environmental Social Management, Monitoring Plans (ESMMPs) to ensure they are implemented in an effective manner.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) Senior Environment Officer job placement must hold a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or any other related degree from an internationally recognized University / institution.
  • A bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Engineering, Physical Sciences or related disciplines from an internationally recognized University / institution.
  • At least five years of working experience in the oil and gas sector operations, with specific responsibility for Environment issues, 3 years of which should have been served at Supervisory level in a reputable Organization.
  • A qualification in the oil and gas sector from an internationally recognized institution;
  • Membership with nationally and internationally recognized professional bodies;
  • Good understanding of International best practices and standards e.g. IFC, IPIECA, Equator principles;
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines; and
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Ugandan environmental legislation, guidelines and standards.
  • Innovative and with a proven high level of integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proven track record of outstanding performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Possess good administrative and negotiation skills.
  • T rack record of training and mentoring others.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in the necessary computer packages.
