Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician  will head the OHS department;
  • Ensure compliance of occupational safety;
  • Ensure activities of an administrative and field nature related with good occupational hygiene and safety practices;
  • Control prevention and protection activities against occupational risks;
  • Make inspection and prevention procedures;
  • Make in-house audits and design action plans in order to correct non-compliances;
  • Support training/awareness at work, through planned actions or in the workplace itself.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold Higher education in engineering (preferential);
  • Occupational Hygiene and safety technician trainer certificate (preferential);
  • Experience in oil companies or in companies that provide services to oil companies (preferential);

Job Summary:  The Risk Manager will provide support to management in the development of comprehensive policies and procedures for risk management and to provide continual risk assessment, implement risk management strategies and processes to protect shareholder value.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Support the Board Audit and Risk committee in ensuring the identification and prioritization of risks and reporting on the same.
  • Develop and implement the overall Enterprise Risk Management Framework for the Company.
  • Develop a risk management system and train departmental risk champions on implementation.
  • Conduct or oversee the conduct of regular risk assessments and preparation of all documentation related to risk assessment, and reviews of standard operating procedures ensuring that recommended improvements are fully implemented.

  • Identify training needs for risk management and oversee development of enterprise risk competence and awareness across the company;
  • Evaluate the adequacy of the company's internal control framework in addressing risks and accomplishing the company's goals and objectives
  • Guiding integration of enterprise risk management with other organizational planning and management activities.
  • Monitor and report on compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Proactively identify emerging risks and report to relevant stakeholders
  • Any other duty assigned by Management


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Full Professional Membership (ACCA, CPA, CMA, CIA)

It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda. The overall function of UNOC is; “To handle the State’s Commercial interests in the Oil and Gas industry.”

Job Summary:  The Drilling and Completions Engineer will design and monitor cost-effective drilling and well completions. Devise methods to improve oil and gas well production.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Develop cost and schedules for exploration, appraisal and development wells according to UNOC approved processes. Prepare AFE's for the works, review invoices and obtain appropriate approvals.
  • Design well trajectories, completions and perforations. Work with stakeholders to develop best fit technical solutions for life of well, which considers full expected operational envelope.
  • Prepare and monitor drilling, completions, workover and fluid programs to ensure that operations are conducted in compliance with industry standards, regulations and UNOC policies.
  • Provide post well support by working with the integrated project team and external stakeholders to compile end of well documentation, in line with Company and Partner requirements.
  • Evaluate partners' drilling and completions proposals and participate in meetings with Partners and Authorities, when required.
  • Identify the need for change of the drilling and completion program, operation or contract system and initiate the Management of Change (MOC) process for any deviations.
  • Collaborate with an integrated team of production engineers, reservoir engineers, geologists and other technical disciplines to ensure that well designs for UNOC and non-operated projects comply with UNOC Policies and Standards.
  • Supervise the removal of drilling equipment and wastes from UNOC operated assets.
  • Explore and recommend well design and new technology applications, provide associated risk and economic analyses of their implementation where appropriate.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC) Drilling and Completions Engineer job placement must hold a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
  • BSc (Hons) in Drilling, Petroleum, Structural, Mechanical, or Manufacturing/Production Engineering or related engineering field.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas industry and must be well versed in all aspects of drilling, well completion and workover operations.
  • Possess working knowledge of Drilling and Completions Software suites
  • Ability to work independently, but also work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment to develop appropriate work programmes.

Job Summary:  The Information and Data Management Assistant will support the implementation of the Company’s Information Management (IM) Policy, custody of company records and documents and ensure smooth retrieval of documents as and when required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Support the implementation of an Electronic Document Management System.
  • Support the implementation of the Company's Information Management Policy.
  • Support the embedment of IM Policy.
  • Manage the Records and Archive centres in line with the IM Policy and guidelines
  • Manage company reference library.
  • Support the development of appropriate training materials to facilitate compliance awareness.
  • Continuously assess space and security requirements of current and archived company documents and records.
  • Maintain company document register with quick links to electronic data management system for ease of retrieval.
  • Track In-Coming and Out-Going Communications for the company on a daily basis.
  • Support the process of tracking actions from all correspondences and ensure that they are closed.
  • Update KPIs for Data and Information Management.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC) Information and Data Management Assistant job placement must hold an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science, Computer Science or other related field.
  • A minimum of three years of work experience in Information Management in a busy and reputable organisation.
  • Working knowledge of both manual and electronic document control systems.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement and electronic document control system
  • Experience in establishing Information Management processes
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Advanced MS office skills is a must have.
