2 No Experience Oil Company Jobs - OBC Controllers - TOTAL

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Live monitoring of the active trucks in reference to the authorised routes.
  • Run a daily fleet report on the On Board Computer (OBC) violations for both Transporters' and Company Light Vehicles.
  • Monitor and ensure that the entire fleet is fitted with an effective OBC monitoring system. Report on all OBC anomalies detected and follow up the resolutions for both Transporters' and Company Light vehicles.
  • Report on the OBC service providers' performance, the condition of their equipment and functioning of their software application.
  • Generate and maintain an updated database of all verified OBC violations depicting daily, weekly and monthly trends.
  • Conduct random verification of the documentation on the accuracy and consistency of the live monitoring reports submitted by transporters on a daily basis.
  • Support the preparation of journey management plans for all routes
  • Liaise with Safe to Load operators to check the condition of the OBC monitoring systems on all trucks entering the depots..


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicants for the TOTAL OBC Controller job opportunity should hold a Diploma in Transport and Logistics or any related field of study
  • Should have good analytical, communication and report writing skills
  • Should be willing to work in shifts and be able to work under minimum supervision
  • Knowledge of Motor vehicle electronics/mechanics is an added advantage.

  • Observe and follow all safety rules, regulations and operating procedures and report all delays and/or accidents.
  • Ensure Quality control of Jet A1. Refuel aircrafts and fill Jet A1 drums.
  • Ensure safe operations in the Depot, Into-plane facilities and during the aircraft refuelling process at the airside.
  • Inspect and monitor on a daily basis the mechanical condition of aviation fuelling equipment.
  • Generate and reconcile daily sales meter records.
  • Perform operational and preventive maintenance checks on relevant fuel equipment and vehicles in accordance with set standards.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicants for the TOTAL Temporary Refueller job opportunity should hold a Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (minimum).
  • A minimum of three years of working experience in an industrial set up.
  • Hold a clean and valid Driver’s Licence - CM Class.

Senior Legal Officer - Compliance Employment Opportunity - Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC)

It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda. The overall function of UNOC is; “To handle the State’s Commercial interests in the Oil and Gas industry.”

Job Summary:  The Senior Legal officer – Compliance is responsible for handling day to day legal and regulatory compliance responsibilities pertaining to UNOC and its subsidiaries, drafting of relevant policies and supporting management of Company compliance matters

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure that UNOC's internal policies and procedures are appropriately implemented by UNOC and its subsidiaries.
  • Support and coordinate the monitoring of legal and regulatory developments within Uganda and globally that may impact the regulatory landscape of UNOC and its businesses and ensure these are effectively communicated to relevant business.
  • To be actively involved in defining and drafting of a legal, regulatory and internal policies an annual compliance plan for Uganda National Oil Company and its subsidiaries.
  • Supporting and participating in initiatives and processes to create awareness across the UNOC business on legal, regulatory and internal policies compliance requirements.
  • As required, interpret, provide advice and guidance on legal and regulatory compliance matters to UNOC and its subsidiaries.
  • Coordinate the drawing up of formalities to monitor and assure Legal and regulatory compliance and to internal policies and procedures.
  • Develop the necessary compliance trackers to drive and ensure compliance by UNOC to Legal, regulatory and internal policies requirements as deemed necessary.
  • Coordinate and ensure all necessary submissions to regulators are made in a timely fashion in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
  • As and when required, liaise with the industry regulators to ensure a coordinated working approach between UNOC and the respective regulators of its business including securing requisite approvals and project authorisations.
  • To conduct legal and regulatory analysis and research on various compliance matters.
  • File all necessary documentation for compliance of the company and advise across the company on the legal effects of any government policy proposals and bills of parliament that may have a bearing on the UNOC business.
  • Liaise with other departments and stake holders and develop, manage and review company policies and manuals among others and as appropriate, contribute to or influence company policies.
  • Compile and maintain regulatory documentation databases including applicable laws, regulations and ensure these are kept updated  at all times.
  • Recommend changes to company policies and procedures in response to changes in regulations, laws and best legal practices
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC) Senior Legal officer - Compliance job placement must hold a bachelor's degree in Law (LLB)
  • A diploma in legal practice
  • A master's in law in a relevant discipline such as in Oil and Gas, Project Financing, Corporate Law will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in a busy corporate entity of high repute.
  • Experience in dealing with complex transactions in a large corporate entity is relevant.
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with regulatory, legal and contractual compliance aspects of complex transactions in a large corporate entity.
  • The candidate must have excellent analytical, researching and drafting skills.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to anticipate legal issues or risks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to take good decisions based on judgment are absolutely essential.
  • High level of integrity, proven track record of outstanding performance, and ability to work under pressure as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills particularly to management/staff relations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
