Job Summary:   The IT Help Desk Engineer will act as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance and provide support for all Information Technology products and services

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Serves as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email and performs remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
  • Determines the most efficient and effective manner to resolve customer's technical issue. Engages in research and in-depth troubleshooting to resolve technical issues. Consults with full-time staff when necessary.
  • Provides support in answering queries, troubleshooting issues, training or instructing customers regarding software or hardware functionality.
  • Helps to order, install and configure new computers and peripherals.
  • Provides technical support to during meetings and when using smart classroom technologies.
  • Assist to updates and communicate IT policies.
  • Records customers’ problem information in ClT’s Work Order System updates and closes the tickets once resolved and communicated to customer.
  • Resolves Level 1 work orders and elevates complex and/or high priority problems to the appropriate support groups for resolution effectively, follows- up on resolutions.
  • Diagnoses and resolves at least 90% of assigned Help Desk tickets within 3 business days.
  • Assists to achieve and maintain a 99.9% user satisfaction rating.
  • Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies (spare computers, cables, adapters, etc.).
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the CNOOC Uganda IT Help Desk Engineer job opportunity should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree or above in Informatics, computer science or the related.
  • Three years of related working experience.
  • Good knowledge in installation/configuration/maintenance/trouble shooting of Window OS and common office software as well as PC’ hardware and peripherals
  • Good knowledge of IT services best practice.
  • Good knowledge of network and related protocol.
  • Good understanding of IT knowledge database

Job Summary:  The Department Assistant provides full scope Administrative and Secretarial support to the Department Manager and staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Assists to prepare draft documents, presentations and final written business correspondences such as letters, memoranda, meeting minutes using computer programs such as Microsoft PowerPoint, word excel, and Vision.
  • Answers and screens telephone calls and appointments for the Department Manager, researches and transmits inquiries, distributes mail, correspondences, and follows through on responses.
  • Assists to coordinates travel arrangements, meetings, take minutes and maintains the schedule of appointments for the department.
  • Maintains the departments filing system; personnel and general files and should periodically update and purge of old files as per the established procedure.
  • Maintains the department’s database and ensures confidentiality of personnel issues and all data.
  • Assists in compiling the departments weekly and monthly reports.
  • Maintains stationery and office supply inventory, petty cash and acts as a Liaison for maintenance of the building, facilities and office equipment.
  • Assists staff in applying for work and travel documents such as work permits, special passes, visas and other travel documents.
  • Performs other duties as required by Supervisor.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the CNOOC Uganda Department Assistant job opportunity should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, Accounting & Finance, Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
  • Two years of related working experience.
  • Excellent administrative skills.

  • Good knowledge and skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Job Summary:  The GIS Engineer mainly coordinates the CUL’s GIS: data gathering techniques, compilation, analysis, and distribution; overall strategy; GIS Program management, GIS Database administration, System administration; Hardware/software upgrades; Oversight of helpdesk GIS issues; supervising GIS technicians; GIS budget and resources; Develop GIS applications & programming and performs duties as required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Manages the acquisition and preparation of GIS data, to include spatial analysis, data integrity and high quality map production.
  • The jobholder supervises all GIS and Automated Mapping/Facilities Management (AM/FM) activities of CUL, to include needs assessment and support to other departments.
  • Develops robust yet flexible databases for the existing and new GIS layers.
  • Manages and administers GIS applications; introduces new technology and techniques
  • Prepares and  administers the GIS budget. (Recommends)
  • Supervises and evaluates the work performance of one or more GIS technicians. Provides training as needed.
  • Promotes inter agency (partners) cooperation in GIS projects.
  • Develops GIS strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Trouble-shoots and maintains systems; maintains professional relationships with software vendors.
  • Performs other work as assigned.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Four years of related working experience.
  • Knowledge of basic petroleum engineering.

  • Familiarity with GPS technology, data collection, integration with GIS software
  • Ability to integrate GIS into operation workflows for the oil and gas industry

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The National Content Capacity Building Leader will be tasked with participating in the designing, implementing, monitoring, execution and reporting on the Total EP Uganda/ Tilenga Capacity Building programmes which involves; preparing an action plan and budget and obtain the necessary approvals
  • Tasked with the implementation and coordination of the related Contracts and procurement processes. Following up and ensuring execution of the capacity building programs and preparing related reports
  • Coordination and communication at all stages of the capacity building programs
  • Coordinate capacity building initiatives with the Company’s partner
  • Collect information from the various technical entities and prepare reports
  • Prepare presentations to communicate to partners, authorities and other stakeholders as may be required.
  • In addition, follow up on evaluation of prequalification questionnaires, call for tenders and the related negotiation process and ensure negotiated national content commitments are included in the contracts.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicants for the TOTAL National Content Capacity Building Leader job opportunity should hold a Master’s degree in Business Administration or Bachelors in Engineering or Equivalent
  • At least ten years of relevant professional experience
  • Project Management knowledge and skills
  • Clear understanding of Oil & Gas operator activities, policies, strategies
  • Knowledge of Government policies and National Content regulations
  • Excellent communication skills (written and Oral)
  • Computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Office
