Job Summary:  The primary role of the Construction Supervisor is to provide close supervision and monitoring in construction process while ensuring that decent houses are built for OVC and other selected households in accordance with HFHU principles; by the contracted local firms that have the capacity to build decent houses. He will travel in the operational areas covered by HFHU to provide support.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Understand and articulates the Mission and policies of HFHU to local leaders, beneficiaries and community members to uphold the same.
  • Ensure quality construction by maintaining standard procedures and guidelines for construction by visiting construction sites regularly.
  • Prepares certificates for the local construction firms at all stages.
  • Management of crews of skilled and unskilled workers at construction sites.
  • Ensure that the Selected OVC house beneficiaries have excavated the Pit to the required depth, Prepare the Setting out Pegs and cleared the site where the housing unit is to be constructed as part of their Key Contribution before construction firms are attached
  • Provide monthly and quarterly construction updates to the Construction Specialist and VGH Manager.
  • Ensure that the organizational construction policies and guidelines are followed at all times during the construction of the houses.
  • Develop construction specification and management i.e. prepare Bills of Quantities/Materials for the selected house designs.
  • Ensure that concerns raised by contractors or beneficiaries are documented and shared by Construction Specialist and VGH Manager.
  • Ensure that all building materials used in the construction of OVC houses are of the quality as recommended by the Organization.
  • Frequent visits to the construction sites.
  • Collaborate with the District Local Government Technical officials, Town Council Officials e.g. District Engineers to ensure approval of new design & specifications
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Construction Supervisor job should preferably have qualifications including, but not limited to: University degree in any one of the following disciplines: Bachelor’s degree in Building and Civil Engineering or High Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • At least three years of experience in construction management work for a non-governmental organization or a reputable international organization.
  • Experience in supervising construction works and inventory management
  • Practical experience in working with community based structures
  • Experience in drawings, developing of BOQs and construction budgets

Job Summary: The Diagnostic Officer will provide diagnostic technical and implementation support to SURM project activities in districts in the region. The Diagnostics Officer will provide technical and implementation support to the field-based team and all field activities. They will ensure effective documentation of project impact, as well as dissemination of learning from implementation and operational research and will provide ongoing technical support to the Sub-Recipients, Ministry of Health (MoH)/ National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) and other partners and stakeholders as relevant to the project scope and in accordance with its approach to understanding and influencing positive change. This role has an important capacity building function, which involves working closely with all project's partners.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for the Malaria laboratory diagnostic component of the project
  • Work hand in hand with the team to manage the scope of work including creation and execution of work plans and revision as appropriate to comply with program milestones.
  • Ensure that all program milestones are met through effective planning.
  • Supervise and mentor project laboratory technologists, ensure effective support is given to districts and Regional Performance Monitoring Teams (RPMTS) to successfully build capacity for malaria laboratory diagnosis and External Quality Control and External Quality Assurance.
  • Ensures compliance with all grant requirements; ensure that activities are executed according to pre-established guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Link directly with the National Malaria Control Program laboratory diagnostic focal person to ensure diagnostic activities are aligned with the national malaria diagnostic plans.
  • Lead the planning and actual delivery of EQA & QC, training and mentoring activities for laboratory personnel in supported districts.
  • Represent MC in various meetings related to malaria control in Uganda.
  • Lead activities involved in quantifying malaria laboratory diagnostic supplies and reagents.
  • Lead the process of developing the technical content for the SMS based support to laboratory personnel.
  • Generate periodic programmatic reports on program activities and advancement toward milestones.
Other responsibilities
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisors Program Manager and Regional Coordinator
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the program
  • Optimize the project's visibility among other stakeholders and the development community at large


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Job Summary:   The Accountability, Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant will support the project in systematic data collection through routine monitoring of field level project activities on a timely manner to aid evident reporting, to ensure quality programming and accountability within the framework of World Vision and donor standards and guidelines at settlement levels.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Perform Routine monitoring of field activities (data collection, processing and entry) and assist in both quantitative and qualitative analysis & preparation of draft M&E reports that will allow for an enhanced output analysis.
  • Prepare monthly and Quarterly activity progress report and submit to the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
  • Mobilize and sensitize community about beneficiaries’ eligibility, date, time and location of distribution.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the World Vision Accountability, Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant job placement should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Development Studies, Social work and Social Administration, and any relevant experience in Monitoring and Evaluation.

Job Summary:  The Data Assistant performs under the leadership of the health unit in-charge. Working as part of the facility team, s/he will assist, implementation of strong data quality maintenance systems of the health unit. The Data Assistant will promote quality data standards at all points of service delivery by ensuring the generation and submission of accurate, timely, valid data to inform on quality improvement and reporting. S/he will work closely with the health information Assistant and respective unit-in chargers to compile weekly, monthly and quarterly facility HMIS and PEPFAR reports. Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Liaise with the different units in –charges to ensure completeness of the data on the patient files, and the registers (ANC, Maternity, Postnatal, Exposed Infant Register, HTS register, Laboratory registers, SMC registers, Nutrition registers, TB registers, Pre-ART and ART registers, Family Planning Register, Child/Immunization Register, prevention registers, APN registers, Missed appointment registers).
  • Work with different health unit’s departments in ensuring timely, accurate, complete and valid data is generated from the respective registers into weekly, monthly, and quarterly HMIS/PEPFAR reports or any other required report and are verified before submission to the DHO, RHITES-E and MoH. The data/reports pertain to: HIV Care & Treatment program, PMTCT including EID, TB including MDR-TB, TB/HIV, HIV Counselling and Testing, VMMC, Nutrition, WASH, Gender and social inclusion, Malaria, MNCH, Family Planning, and Laboratory.
  • Receiving and dealing with enquiries and requests relating to data needs
  • Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data before it is entered into the National and project Information systems.
  • Carry out data entry in a timely and accurate manner into Uganda EMR and the project information system; and assists in the compilation of statistical information for reports. While Updating, maintaining and retrieving data held on computerized HIV/AIDS/Family health reporting systems.
  • Work with information by transferring it from paper-based records (registers) into summary tally sheets or computerized reporting format.
  • Managing the electronic data systems which include and not limited to Uganda EMR, ensuring systems are updated with the most current data.
  • Maintain hardcopy and electronic data files and reports in compliance with the national/research protocols, ensuring that completed records/reports/documents are regularly stored/back up in an appropriate location.
  • Maintain the highest standards of data quality by comparing the data entered with source documents, or re-enters verified data.
  • Participate in the facility quality improvement activities which may include collecting/summarizing data and analyzing to inform progress of quality improvement interventions.
  • Analyze the monthly summary statistics for key program indicators and compile reports for distribution to inform QI teams at health facility level.
  • Participate in Data cleaning and assist health care workers at the designated facilities in data quality assurance as stipulated in the standard operating procedures and job aides.
  • Support implementation of the above duties in two addition Light ART sites as will be assigned.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the IntraHealth Data Assistant job placement must hold a diploma in Statistics, Records Management from a reputable institute
  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology or a post graduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation will be an added advantage.

  • Two years of progressive professional experience working in data management
