Job Summary:  The Head of Clinical Services will be responsible for the overall coordination and supervision of activities and delivery of excellent medical services in the clinical section in accordance with national and international policies and standards. S/he will work in liaison with senior management to identity strategies for strengthening clinical services both in quality and as one of the major sources for income generation. The incumbent will ensure that health workers have access to and trained on updated medical information..

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Coordination
·         Coordinate technical partner relationships as may be assigned by the Project Manager and General Manager.
·         Coordinate all units within CMH. Maintain liaisons with Ministry oi Health and other relevant agencies.
Capacity Building
·         Assess, determine. and advocate tor a rationalized optimal workforce requirement for the department.
·         Ensure the technical soundness of CMH clinical strategies by updating CMH stall and partners on technical advances and lessons learned around the world
·         Provide and or oversee on-site training tor health care providers
·         Provide mentorship and builds capacity of technical staff for the setting up and running clinical services and track progress.
·         Provide leadership for technical reporting according to defined reporting schedule and write regular monitoring and technical reports as required.
Clinical services
·         Provide advanced care and consultation services to patients.
·         Identity, document, disseminate and scale up best practices in clinical care.
Duality Management
·         Lead the strategic thinking process for improvement and/or diversification oi clinical services at CMH for purposes oi widening the income base.
·         Provide technical direction and support to all medical partners including consultants.
·         Lead the daily, weekly and monthly doctors‘ forum meetings and ensure that important updated clinical information is relayed timely and implemented. Prepare and coordinate submission of reports.
·         Provide leadership in supporting the organizational strategic plan in implementing activities in CMH.
·         Participate in the development of Strategic and Departmental work plans.
·         Ensure that CMH's activities and performance goals are in line with national and international standards.
Procurement
·         Participate in procurement and supervision of services/activities related to improvement of CMH.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·         The applicant should possess an MBChB and a Masters in Clinical Medicine such as internal Medicine, Pediatrics or an equivalent
·         A minimum of five years of postgraduate experience m private or public healthcare management.
·         At least Three (3) years in senior clinical practice with management / leadership roles in a healthcare facility

Job Summary:  Every quarter, Living Goods conducts calls to customers for purposes of assessing the accuracy and integrity of data reported by CHPs during the preceding quarter through the Living Goods SmartHealth App for LG KPIs. Specifically:
·         Get customer feedback on quality of service from the CHP
·         Provide recommendations for data quality improvements
·         Check for accuracy and completeness of reported data.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·         Conduct phone surveys (calls) to sampled Living Goods clients to verify data accuracy and assess customer satisfaction.
·         Identify and report issues/concerns raised by the clients during the calls.
·         Completing the designed mobile data collection forms
·         Participate in the initial training session about the study methodology and implementation;
·         Obtain informed consent from the sampled clients;
·         Check completed forms to be sure that all questions were asked, as well as all relevant items on the data collection tool completed.
·         Complete expected work while adhering to the research protocol as described during training workshop


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·         The temporary QA assistant must have at least one-year experience conducting quantitative research including customer care calls; and should have excellent interpersonal communication skills.  A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in health sciences, Social Sciences, statistics or a related field is required.
·         Previous experience of interviewing survey respondents in health related field is an added advantage.
·         Oral communication skills in English and any of the local languages of Luganda, Lumasaba, Luo, and Lusoga).
·         Flexibility in duties to be performed;
·         High levels of integrity;
·         Flexibility in working hours;
·         Computer literate, using MS office suit and willingness to engage in training activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Recruitment and Selection:
  • Set up a long term human resource development strategy

  • Lead the development, and regular review of comprehensive HR policies, plans, strategies and guidelines.

About Project:
Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is seeking a Strategy and Program Innovation Director for a potential 5-year Strengthening Supply Chain Systems through Technical Assistance (SSCS) program in Uganda. The purpose of the program is to help the Government of Uganda (GoU) move health supply chain systems further along the Journey to Self-Reliance through improved performance and efficiency of its health system in order to ensure uninterrupted availability of quality medicines at public and private-not-for-profit (PNFP) health facilities and, thus, improve the health status of the Ugandan people.

Job Summary:  The Strategy and Program Innovation (SPI) Director works as program manager associated with the implementation of new/innovative experiences that are designed by the Innovation team and to implement the strengthening of the regulatory system for Uganda public health commodities and supply chain management. S/he will work with key actors and supply chain stakeholders engaged in medicines, supply chain management, human resources and other sector reforms for addressing potential gaps in national policies and regulatory guidelines. To that end the (SPI) Director shall provide technical guidance for strengthening GoU’s capacity to develop and update policies, regulations and reforms based on evidence (data, best practices, research).  The (SPI) Director will also be supporting the dissemination, popularization and implementation of the adopted policies, norms and regulatory guidelines favoring the affordability, availability, accessibility, quality and effectiveness of medicines. To that effect S/he will provide technical guidance for the efficient implementation and enforcement of policies and regulations in support of an improved supply chain efficiencies and effectiveness. S/he will provide guidance to project and partners in areas of supply chain systems; support development of local innovative solutions in the supply chain arena; lead specific project objectives. As the (PSI) Director coordinates innovation efforts across the project, s/he will establish linkages with enabling policies and regulations through technical leadership and advocacy. The role of the Director of Strategy and Program Innovation focuses on three main areas of activity: Program Innovation and Strategy, Business Development and Advocacy/Representation.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·         The applicant for the Management Sciences for Health (MSH) Strategy and Program Innovation Director career position must hold a Master’s degree in public health, public health administration, pharmaceutical supply chain management or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to ten years of experience above.
·         A minimum of ten (10) years of specialized study and/or training in medicines policy or related fields. Preference will be given to those with considerable working experience in managing and providing technical support to large complex international projects with significant strengthening regulatory system components.
·         Local national with experience working in multiple countries, particularly Africa is preferred.
·         Demonstrated capacity in working collaboratively and effectively engaging with senior level government leadership and host country institutions, donors, and international organizations; public and private sector counterparts and other key stakeholders.
·         Proven experience in the domain of pharmaceutical management at the national level.
·         In depth knowledge of Uganda’s health system, laws and current regulations.
·         Demonstrated capacity to work in a multi-disciplinary team and effectively engaging with senior level government leadership and host country institutions, donors, and international organizations; public and private sector counterparts and other key stakeholders.
·         Working knowledge of and/or experience with USG-funded program management, policies, regulations, and procedures is preferred.

3 Senior Study Nurse - Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC)

The Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) is a non-profit research organization. IDRC conducts research in infectious diseases including Malaria, HIV and Tuberculosis. IDRC was established in May 2008 by Ugandan health scientists from Makerere University College of health sciences, University of California, San Francisco and the Uganda Ministry of health.

Job Summary: The Senior Study Nurse is responsible for a new project called the TB Screening Improves Preventive Therapy Uptake (TB SCRIPT) Trial.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Participate in counseling and general management of study participants according to the study protocol
  • Screen, schedule, consent, enroll, and follow study participants;
  • Provide TB treatment and fill the TB treatment register;
  • Participate in data collection and cleaning;
  • Collect blood and sputum specimens and transport to laboratory when needed;
  • Communicate closely with locally and internationally based Study Investigators by email and weekly telephone conferences;
  • Carry out performance management and Supervision of Clinic personnel in day-to-day conduct of study including the making of rosters for all Study Nurses on duty.
  • Assist to develop and review study documents including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
  • Coordinate timely submission of applications to local research ethics committees.
  • Preparing weekly work plan/schedules
  • Oversee patient transport reimbursement and carryout accountabilities for clinic petty cash as per IDRC procedures.
  • Maintain accounting records and review monthly expenditures with Study Coordinator for the TB SCRIPT Trial grant;
  •  Keeping good records of stock, medicines and other clinical supplies.
  •  Organizing monthly inventory and request for procurement of office supplies as delegated


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Prior experience working as a Clinic Manager, Senior Study Nurse on trials and/or longitudinal studies
  • Good working knowledge of TB and HIV care and treatment
  • Fluency in Luganda.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Demonstrate experience with management of study data.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under stringent deadlines and to work independently
  • Excellent attention to detail
