The Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda is mandated to regulate, supervise, monitor and control the business of Insurance in Uganda.

Job Summary: The Board Administrator will provide administrative support to Director Legal /Secretary to the Authority in addressing matters of the Board in an effective and efficient manner.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide legal and administrative support to ensure Board decisions are implemented.
  • Attend and assist in recording and submitting minutes and other pertinent documents for approval.
  • Assist in ensuring proper scheduling of Board meetings and other requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining records and files.
  • Assist in Preparing schedules, agendas, minutes and notices for the Board.
  • Conduct research to assist with the preparation of policies and procedures.
  • Assist in reviewing and editing reports for the Board.
  • Assist in preparing correspondence for Board members.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda Board Administrator job placement must hold a Bachelor of Law (Honours).
  • ICSA Qualification
  • Five years of pertinent experience.

Job Summary: The Legal Clerk will perform routine duties involved in court process and land transactions, and prepare a variety of forms and documents as mandated by the law.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Receives, serves and files all legal Court documents.
  • Prepares affidavit of service, briefs and reviews for use in Court process.
  • Receives and registers caveats and other documents for any land transaction, registration and maintains all pertinent records for Real Estate.
  • Follows up Court process in the Insurance Appeals Tribunal and other Courts of Law, and communicates with Counsel regarding case management and procedural requirements.
  • Provides support in the maintenance of legal documents.
  • Review pending litigation and maintain a diary for the Legal Department.
  • Perform any other duty as shall be assigned from time to time.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda Legal Clerk job placement must hold a Diploma in law.
  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education.
  • Three years of experience in a reputable organisation.

Job Summary: The Program Assistant - Lobby and Advocacy  will support the Lobby and Advocacy function of the organization working closely with the Lobby and Advocacy Officer white engaging government institutions, members (LASPs), service providers and other advocacy partners in Uganda and across East African region in lobbying, advocacy, media outreach and legal aid and human rights awareness, education and advocacy campaign management.

Job Summary: The Legal Officer Litigation will provide legal services to support operationsin accordance with Authority’s Policies, procedures and the law.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Assist in assessing legal implications in the Authority's dealings with the insurance companies, other operators who carry on other business that falls within the purview of the Insurance Act and other pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Interpret the Insurance Act and other pertinent laws and regulations, to assist in the enforcement together with its related regulations as the need may arise.
  • Assist in managing the Complaints Bureau as provided for in the Insurance Act.
  • Assist in monitoring enactments of laws and regulations and assess their impact on the operations of the Authority.
  • Carry out legal research to support internal and external counsel.
  • Provide legal advice to the Authority.
  • Assist in reviewing insurance proposals and policy forms.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda Legal Officer Litigation job placement must hold a Bachelor s of Laws degree (Honours) and diploma in Legal Practice.
  • Three years of post-enrollment experience.
