Job Summary:  The Senior Resettlement Assistant provides important clerical and administrative support to resettlement operations and may as required take part in assessing cases for resettlement and conducting interviews. The incumbent maintains frequent contacts with his/her supervisor, relevant colleagues within the same Office or Offices under purview to exchange information and discuss issues on resettlement cases. Some contacts and communication at a working level are required with Embassy / Immigration Officials of resettlement countries, IOM as well as with other operating partners regarding resettlement issues.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct preliminary interviews and initial assessments, to process refugees for resettlement following established procedures.
  • Prepare written documentation for resettlement submission; ensure that records / files of individual cases are updated in a systematic and timely manner.
  • The jobholder will also assess and review individual resettlement cases and prepare individual / group submission for scrutiny by the supervisor
  • Provide persons of concern with up-to-date and accurate information on UNHCR resettlement policies and procedures.
  • Comply with UNHCR standard operating procedures on resettlement, ensuring timely action on cases
  • Follow up on cases from time of submission to final decision and departure; ensure effective in-country communication on the status and follow-up on persons of concern being considered for resettlement
  • Provide support in maintaining and updating progress or Consolidated Online Resettlement Tracking System (CORTS) database and provide technical support.
  • Coordinate travel and departure arrangements for refugees accepted for resettlement.
  • Organize logistical support for governments undertaking resettlement missions
  • Provide administrative support for resettlement-related training activities, including organization of resettlement workshops and meetings as required
  • Maintain accurate resettlement statistics as well as up-to-date records on individual cases; assist in the preparation of reports
  • Draft / type routine correspondence to Field Offices / Regional Offices / Headquarters
  • Systematically apply an Age, Gender and Diversity perspective in all aspects of the resettlement process; comply with UNHCR policy and guidelines on HIV/AIDS
  • Provide support in mitigating resettlement fraud by reporting suspected fraud.

Key Performance Indicators:
  • Recommend eligible cases for resettlement consideration. 
  • Provide counselling to persons of concern.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the United Nations UNHCR Senior Resettlement Assistant job vacancy should have completed secondary education with certificate/training in International Law, International Relations or related fields required.
  • At least four years of job experience relevant to the functions
  • Good knowledge of resettlement issues and UNHCR resettlement policies and operational applications.

Senior Officer Credit Control Job Placement - DFCU Bank

Later restructuring brought in DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its objective was to support long-term development projects whose financing needs and risk did not appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending institutions.

Job Summary:  The Senior Officer Credit Control will mainly prepare all contracts relating to borrowing customers in a language that can easily be understood by either parties and that are enforceable in the courts of law, set out all terms and conditions under which the bank is willing to make available to the customer the approved credit facility and provide the advisory services to the business units.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Tasked with the preparation of documents for non-standardized deals that involve unique terms and conditions with huge exposures in line with SLA and ensure such contracts are water tight and enforceable in courts of law in case of default
  • Process instructions to External Lawyers and follow up with the same upon receipt of duly checked and cleared files by the Credit Documentation Team for all facilities above USD 5m.
  • Review all documentation drafted to ensure compliance with the Bank’s Approved Standard format
  • Proof read and advise on standardized documents prepared by Legal and external lawyers – for accuracy and completeness
  • Draft SLAs with all internal stake holders and review those with external stake holders
  • Offer advisory services to business units on all legal related issues on the different credit files as presented for preparation of credit agreements
  • Carry out regular security reviews, reconciling the physical security positions as reported by the Documentation team and tracking delays, renewals and releases.
  • Conduct periodical sensitivity and confirmation checks of validity of securities for deteriorating credit facilities and the bank’s top borrowers.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the DFCU Bank Senior Officer Credit Control job placement must hold a Law degree from a reputable learning institution
  • Administration or any other related field in credit administration
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in drafting credit agreements in a reputable institution/legal firm

Job Summary:   The Restoration of Family Links (RFL) Project Officer (West Nile) will be responsible for implementation of the RFL Programme in the respective Refugee Settlements/Branch Offices. The position will also be responsible for supervising the RFL Focal Persons, RFL Assistants in the Refugee Settlements/Branch Offices.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Offer timely technical support to all the RFL Focal Persons and Volunteers in the West Nile Operation;
  • Supervise and guide the RFL Programme Staff and Volunteers in West Nile Operations
  • Prepare and submit personal work plans for activities to the RFL Programme Management and Branch Manager;
  • Ensure that clients requesting for Red Cross Restoring Family Links Services are adequately informed about the existing services;
  • Prepare and submit to the RFL Programme Management and Branch management updates and other situational information arising from the settlement;
  • Ensure that the different RFL services are available for clients who need the services;
  • Ensure that the RFL phone services are available for clients in need;
  • Ensure that the RFL phone service is well monitored and guidelines adhered to;
  • With support of the URCS teams, conduct RFL dissemination to targeted audiences;
  • Receive, collect and deliver Red Cross Messages (RCMs) within the Settlement or where requested outside of the settlement;
  • With notice of the Programme Management, participate in Child protection meetings at settlement level and other operational coordination meeting;
  • Submit weekly statistics to the Programme Management and Branch manager for internal reporting and a detailed report at the end of the month;
  • Regularly follow up all existing RFL caseloads within the Settlement;
  • Update the individual RFL activity monitoring tools at the settlement level;
  • Identify and conduct registration and follow up of Unaccompanied Minors;
  • Provide psycho-social support to clients seeking RFL services;
  • Ensure proper and safe custody for all assets received for the discharge of RFL services;
  • Carry out emergency tracing services whenever called upon;
  • Handle other duties as assigned by the RFL Programme Management or Branch Manager


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelors’ Degree in Social Sciences, Education, Organizational Psychology, Human Resource Management,  Law or a related field from a reputable institute;
  • Post-Graduate qualification in Project Planning & Management, Public; Administration, HR Management or a related field will be an added advantage;
  • At least three years of experience implementing Restoration of Family Links activities; 
  • Knowledge of the local languages in the communities of operation is an asset to the potential candidates;

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
