Human Resource Advisor - Recruitment and Appraisal Employment Opportunity - Mukwano Group of Companies

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·         Review and update all the recruitment, selection and appraisal documents, policies and procedures
·         Prepare job adverts (internal & external) and shortlist qualifying candidates
·         Coordinate interviews in liaison with the process owners and submit relevant reports timely as per the procedure
·         Update the data-bank for potential candidates accordingly
·         Develop a data-bank of consultancy firms for outsourcing as per the needs.
·         Liaise/coordinate with all stakeholders on their manpower requirements
·         Coordinate staff transfers, rotations and promotions with managers accordingly
·         Update job descriptions and the salary structure as per the needs regularly
·         Address all internal/external audit issues related to recruitment and appraisal process
·         Manage the annual graduate trainees program
·         Assist in overseeing the performance management and appraisal duties and exercises accordingly


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·         The ideal candidate for the Mukwano Human Resource Advisor - Recruitment and Appraisal  job must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology and other related disciplines
·         A post graduate diploma or Masters in Human Resource Management is an added advantage
·         At least five years working experience in a similar role in a manufacturing set up
·         Knowledge of existing labour laws and attitudinal/employee engagement surveys
·         Knowledge of all HR cycle functions
·         Integrity, flexible, good interpersonal skills, effective communication, problem solving, counseling and decision making skills.
·         Should have a positive attitude, self-driven, result focused, creative, innovative, can work for long hours and under pressure with minimum supervision.

Job Summary: The Head of Human Resource will provide overall strategic leadership for the Human Resources Function for the Business. In addition, the role will be responsible for developing and implementing Human Resources initiatives and programs that will provide strategic engagement, development and retention of Human Capital and drive a holistic Employee Value Proposition for the Business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide leadership and coordination of the Bank's Human Resource function by developing and implementing the Bank's corporate Human Resource strategy, policies, procedures and programs-.
  • Manage and implement the Bank's strategic training and organizational plan in line with the competencies recruited t-o meet the business strategy while at the same time addressing the professional aspirations of employees.
  • Manage staff compensation and benefits, reward and recognition to ensure that Bank is able to attract and retain talent.
  • Develop and embed performance management processes and discipline to ensure the Bank is a high performing organization.
  • Drive the preferred organization culture through programs that promote embed values / behaviors and Business Ethics.
  • Manage Employee Relations to build a climate that enhances business delivery through sound Industrial Relations.
  • Evaluate and recommend Human Resource outsourcing opportunities and identify potential vendors.
  • Develop and manage HR annual budgets and perform periodic cost and productivity analysis.
  • Ensure enforcement of Risk and Compliance requirements through proactive monitoring and updating of controls, policies, SOPs and SLAs.
  • Work in liaison with the Business, development and implement short and long term business plans for the Bank.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the KCB Bank Head of Human Resource career opportunity must hold a University degree from a recognized institution.
  • Holder of HR Professional Certification.
  • Master's Degree in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.
  • At least eight years of experience in General HR, 5 of which must be in management level in a busy organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of end-to-end HR functions; Recruitment, Performance management, Employee relations, Learning and Development, Compensation and Benefits.
  • Must have sound Commercial acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve both Operational and Strategic issues through a pragmatic and commercially sound approach
  • Superior verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization.
  • Demonstrated creativity and analytical ability.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with a diverse group.

  • Help employees understand the company General Rules and Regulations and Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Ensure daily staff attendance, shift schedules and all leaves taken are updated in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the Payroll advisor to cross check attendance reports generated from logic time, where need be rectifying and handling absenteeism cases
  • Ensure staff overtime and night allowance data is compiled and submitted to Payroll Advisor by the monthly cut-off date i.e. 20th of every month
  • Conduct routine man power and plant checks to ensure all staff comply with established policies and procedures, following up and resolving of issues within the plant
  • Ensure all employees adhere and comply with PPE (Personnel Protective Equipment) requirements
  • The incumbent will receive loans, leave and salary advance applications, forwarding them to Human Resource Department and making a follow up.
  • Advise and help the Business Unit Manager on human resource related issues and to deal with employees at plant
  • Attend to minor disciplinary issues, help in enforcing discipline among employees and generating incident and accident reports to be submitted to Employee Relations and Welfare advisor.
  • Performing any other duties assigned from time to time.

Job Summary:  The Human Resource Assistant - Talent Management & Development will provide human resources administrative support to the Talent Management & Development (Learning & development, performance management & OD) function in line with the organization's Human Resource Policies and strategy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Coordinate all the staff learning and development events in line with the staff learning and development policy.
  • Provide support in developing and updating annual training calendar
  • Provide support to the Performance Management process by receiving, sorting and tracking submission of staff performance appraisal information in line with the PMS policies and procedures.
  • Support staff probation management, by tracking their status on a monthly basis and draft letters of confirmation for senior management approval.
  • Support in compilation of training reports and coordinate the implementation of the identified action points
  • Produce results on performance gaps and a list of staff with performance gaps
  • Follow up evaluation report of the performance after the training
  • Coordinate the orientation and on boarding of new employees
  • Follow up on the technical orientation training
  • Maintain and keep proper custody of learning and development tools (audio visual equipment, laptop and other accessories)
  • Coordinate the orientation and induction process for new staff ensuring that all materials required for orientation are in place.
  • File all records relating to talent management and development in line with the HRMIS policies and procedures.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) Human Resource Assistant - Talent Management & Development job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or industrial/Organizational Psychology
  • Excellent understanding of IDI Human Resource policies
  • Keen interest in the HR core functions of learning & development
  • Proven experience as an HR assistant, staff assistant or relevant human resources/ administrative position
  • Computer literate at least in all the MS Office packages
  • Hands on experience with an HRIS or HRMS
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws
  • Excellent organizational skills
