Job Summary: The Nutrition Officer MCHN will support implementing quality Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN) activities at the health facilities in one of the 2 targeted settlements. The Nutrition Officer - MCHN will work with Save the Children's field office to ensure the prevention of stunting among children from 6 to 23 months and pregnant and lactating women in respect to the donor standards and the increase of attendance for MNCH services


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Save the Children Nutrition Officer MCHN job placement should hold a Diploma in nutrition with minimum two years working experience with NGOs.
  • One year of working experience in IMAM or Maternal and Child Health program.
  • Experience in nutrition program and community work.
  • Experience in training of volunteers on IMAM program.
  • Good capacity to work in a team and flexibility and good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working in a refugee context

Job Summary: The Project Manager will support South Sudanese refugees in the West Nile region (Rhino Camp) and Republic Democratic of Congo refugees in the Western region (Rwamwanja Camp) of Uganda. Save the Children's focus will be on treatment of acute malnutrition and prevention of stunting through the implementation of Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programme (TSFP) and Maternal Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN) programme in both settlements. The incumbent will work with Save the Children's field, regional and country offices, but will have leadership responsibility for the overall management of the award. S/he will provide strategic and operational leadership to develop and implement a successful program and will ensure adherence to overall technical and programmatic quality in implementation, compliance with donor rules and regulations, and the timely submission of all deliverables, including annual work plans, performance monitoring plans, reports.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Save the Children Project Manager job placement should hold a Graduate training in Nutrition or equivalent combination/blend of training and experience.
  • Postgraduate training in nutrition or another relevant discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of four years of direct experience in nutrition programming, planning, implementation and/or evaluation
  • Demonstrated ability to work in nutrition emergency program in collaboration with national health authorities and international partners and familiarity with the TSFP and MCHN interventions in Uganda
  • Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically and demonstrate knowledge of grant regulations and policies.

Job Summary: The Laboratory Technologist will primarily manage the Medical Centre laboratory services and carry out specialized analysis for disease diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control of epidemics, and research.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Plan and budget for laboratory services in the Medical Centre.
  • Participate in investigations of epidemic disease outbreaks.
  • Participate in collection, handling, and analyzing specimens brought for investigation in the laboratory.
  • Carryout laboratory analysis, interpreting results and submitting reports to the clinicians.
  • Requisition and account for laboratory equipment, materials.
  • Compile and submit reports to the Director Health Service.

Key Outputs:
  • Planning and budgeting for laboratory activities carried out.
  • Laboratory investigations for the identification of epidemic disease outbreaks carried out.
  • Laboratory test results and treatment harmonized.
  • Clinical staff advised on proper collection, handling and transportation of specimen.
  • Laboratory equipment, materials and other resources requisitioned for, kept securely and accounted for.
  • Laboratory data compiled, analyzed and stored.
  • Appropriate disposal of laboratory wastes done.
  • Reports compiled and submitted.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Technology.
  • A minimum of three years of working experience in a recognised hospital/ Health Canter.

  • The applicant for the Save the Children Nutrition Officer TSFP job placement should hold a Diploma in nutrition with minimum two years working experience with NGOs.
  • Working experience of one year in IMAM program and Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) more specifically.
