Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Job Summary:   The Transactional Banking Sales Manager will be responsible for Transactional Banking Product Sales to corporate customers. The incumbent will work with RMs and Senior TB sales managers to ensure optimal cross sell ratio of TB products within the portfolio. The jobholder will also be responsible for growing the Bank’s balance sheet i.e. liabilities and assets in line with the set objectives

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Deliver Transactional Banking financial target for the business portfolio and work with Senior TB Sales Managers and Segment Heads to ensure overall performance target for the business segment is achieved
  • Work with Senior TB Sales Managers for Mentorship and coaching to enhance product knowledge and sales ability
  • Identify areas of improvement for existing products for customers, processes and make recommendations
  • Initiate and implement customer service best practices and ensure that internal support is received from other departments for service quality improvements
  • Maintaining the highest standards of customer service to maximize the returns from identified relationships and attract new business from targeted customers in terms of the Marketing and Business Development Market Plan

  • Actively update and monitor the deal pipeline for growth. Enable business to measure impact and value derived from the revenue Centre.
  • Ensure adequate pricing of Trade and Cash Management products on a revenue/expense basis and ensure full collection of fees and commissions, whilst growing this revenue line for Revenue maximization
  • Develop and continually expand the target market of Trade and Cash Management products, provide Training and coaching and work actively with Relationship managers, Treasury, IT & operational personal and Business Banking.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Job Summary:  The Senior Officer Credit Control will mainly prepare all contracts relating to borrowing customers in a language that can easily be understood by either parties and that are enforceable in the courts of law, set out all terms and conditions under which the bank is willing to make available to the customer the approved credit facility and provide the advisory services to the business units.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Tasked with the preparation of documents for non-standardized deals that involve unique terms and conditions with huge exposures in line with SLA and ensure such contracts are water tight and enforceable in courts of law in case of default
  • Process instructions to External Lawyers and follow up with the same upon receipt of duly checked and cleared files by the Credit Documentation Team for all facilities above USD 5m.
  • Review all documentation drafted to ensure compliance with the Bank’s Approved Standard format
  • Proof read and advise on standardized documents prepared by Legal and external lawyers – for accuracy and completeness
  • Draft SLAs with all internal stake holders and review those with external stake holders
  • Offer advisory services to business units on all legal related issues on the different credit files as presented for preparation of credit agreements
  • Carry out regular security reviews, reconciling the physical security positions as reported by the Documentation team and tracking delays, renewals and releases.
  • Conduct periodical sensitivity and confirmation checks of validity of securities for deteriorating credit facilities and the bank’s top borrowers.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

About US:  
USAID’s Power Africa Uganda Electricity Supply Accelerator (the Power Africa Uganda Accelerator) activity, implemented by Energy and Security Group LLC and funded by the United States Agency for International Development, seeks to rapidly increase the level of electricity access in the country through assistance for off-grid and on-grid energy solutions. The goal of the Power Africa Uganda Accelerator is to facilitate 1,000 Megawatts (MW) of additional generation capacity and one million new connections in Uganda by 2020. This target is aligned with the Government of Uganda’s (GOU) target of increasing generation capacity to 2,500 MW by 2020 and Power Africa’s overall target of adding 30,000 MW and 60 million new connections in sub-Saharan Africa by 2030.

Job Summary:  The Banking/Finance Specialist will assist Power Africa in working jointly with developers/end users and banks/financial institutions in structuring debt financing packages, including appropriate credit enhancements as and when required, that will permit closing transactions for on-grid and off-grid power. This is a minimum one-year position (which may be extended conditional on funding).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  Support the Chief of Party (COP) and other key staff in discussions with private renewable energy developers, EPC firms, etc. that have generation projects for which financing is required and engage with banks/financial institutions to facilitate the same.  Specifically, the Banking/Finance Specialist will:
·         Assist private developers in structuring proposals to banks and financial institutions for possible debt financing of power generation, energy-related product supply, and other projects.
·         Support banks/financial institutions as may be required in securing information required from developers and other prospective borrowers needed for the banks/financial institutions to make credit decisions.
·         Assist in identifying and structuring appropriate credit enhancements to facilitate banks and financial institutions lending into the clean energy sector.
·         Obtain and evaluate up-to-date financial information/projections on projects to determine financial and commercial viability.
·         Accompany the COP and other staff on trips in Uganda or undertake trips independently to perform project work as needed.  Trips are not expected to exceed five working days.
·         Build and maintain relationships with financial stakeholders in the energy sector with a primary focus on banks and financial institutions active in the sector.
 Performs other related duties as required.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  Minimum qualification requirements are outlined below.
·         The applicant for the Banking/Finance Specialist position must hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in finance, economics or a related field.
·         Minimum three years’ experience in a banking or finance related position, preferable in structuring financing packages for borrowers; some experience/exposure to the renewable energy sector is desirable.
·         Ability to complete financial analyses based on private company audited and/or management accounts.
·         Understanding of financial modeling and spreadsheet analysis.
·         Experience with full MS Office suite and, in particular, excel spreadsheet analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:  These are summarized below.
·         Experience working with (or in) banks/financial institutions, especially in a lending environment.
·         Post graduate qualification e.g. in finance, business administration, or a related field.
·         Experience working with renewable energy project developers, EPC firms or energy product suppliers.

Job Summary:  The Manager Cash Centre will manage, co-ordinate, organize and control all activities performed by the Cash Centre. Assess and understand the risks associated with the handling of cash and maintain an effective system of controls.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Develop, implement and enforce cash management policies, processes and procedures, to mitigate the risks associated with physical cash.
  • Identify process gaps in the cash Centre and implement system enhancements for all the products
  • Reporting and escalation of any cash discrepancies to the Head of Central Operations and Business Heads
  • Reconciliation and balancing of the cash accounts. Investigate and clear any reconciliation items in a timely manner
  • Investigate and clear queries that relate to cash in a timely manner, provide update and escalations of queries internally and externally, keeping stakeholders informed of any issues or difficulties
  • Management of the Cash in Transit service and coordination for the Branches and Customers
  • Manage, motivate and develop staff as well as fostering a team approach by actively building strong working relationships within the unit as well as identification of training needs.
  • Review service reports for the processing and clearing unit to detect service failures and enforce corrective measures
  • Effectively manage service providers to ensure that they deliver as per their contracts and their timelines and validation of invoices
  • Enforcing proper key and cash management practices around the offsite ATMs to include but not limited to monthly surprise checks, enforcing dual control etc
  • Custodian to the Central cash vault and therefore prime key custodian
  • Support in checking of cash management policies of the Offsite ATMs by performing adhoc surprise cash checks
  • Adherence to the BOU cash management guidelines and correspondences timely
  • Prepare and submit reports to the Head of Central Operations on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed timescales.
