Job Summary: The Principal Civil Aviation Officer will coordinate harmonisation and implementation of projects and programmes related to civil aviation and airport sub sectors in the Community.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
·        Coordinate and facilitate the harmonization of civil aviation and airports policies of the Partner States.
·        Initiate and promote the adoption of a harmonized legal framework in civil aviation and airports sub sectors of the Partner States.
·        Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of studies and recommendations in the East African Civil Aviation Safety Projects (covering the implementation of the aviation safety and security regulations; development of aviation manuals and publications; support to the EAC Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency (CASSOA); Upper Flight Information Region and Global Navigation Satellite Systems among others.
·        Coordinate meetings of the Heads of Civil Aviation and Airport Authorities and follow up on recommendations.
·        Liaise with international and regional organizations on civil aviation and airports..
·        Develop draft proposals for projects for funding in civil aviation and airports sector.
·        Develop draft Terms of Reference as appropriate for projects and programmes in the sub-sector.
·        Participate in the identification of regional centres of excellence in civil aviation and aviation sub sectors.
·        Prepare progress and annual reports on the sub sectors and follow up on implementation of Council and Summit decisions related to the Sector.


Qualifications and Experience:
·        The applicant for the East African Community (EAC) Principal Civil Aviation Officer job must hold a Masters Degree in Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Transport Economics or an equivalent qualification from a recognised University.
·        10 years of experience in civil aviation, with 5 years at a senior level.
·        Strong aviation, engineering, communication, analytical, statistics, presentation, negotiation, networking, team-building and computer skills. Ability to pay attention to detail, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is essential.
·        Good knowledge and understanding of the EAC economic integration process.
·        Good oral and written communication skills and ability to influence multi-stakeholder processes;
·        Excellent analytical skills particularly in interpreting, using, analyzing and presenting data and evidence.
·        Good skills in Project proposal development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
·        Demonstrable knowledge of metrology matters for the EAC Partner States.

Job Summary:   The First Officer (Co-Pilot) works hand in hand with the Line Captain to ensure the safety, security, and proper conduct of flights. He/she deputizes the Captain.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
·        During flight shall be aware of the Pilot in Command’s intentions and monitor the conduct of the flight at all times.
·        When not flying, the Co-pilot shall immediately advise the Pilot in Command of any deviation from the normal flight operating profile.
·        Shall be directly responsible to the Pilot in Command and do whatever duties are assigned to him by the Pilot in Command.
·        Shall be responsible as part of the flying team to ensure that the flight is conducted efficiently and safely.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·        The applicant for the Uganda Airlines First Officer – Airbus A330-800 Neo job must hold a valid Commercial Pilot License with multiple engine ratings.
·        At least 2500 hours total inclusive of 1500 on Jet.
·        Medical Class 1.
·        No Accident or Incident record. No criminal record.
·        English language proficiency level 4 minimum.
·        Individual assessment for satisfactory ability will be carried out as part of the interview process.
·        Airbus experience of 500 hours, last flight within the last 12 months are an added advantage.
·        Willingness to relocate and be based in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
·        Manage every aspect of the business and company performance including full responsibility for revenue, commercial relationships, operational activities and financial control.
·        Responsible for the revenue activities of the air cargo business in the local markets, implementation of a global commercial sales plan and leading customer and sales activities.
·        Responsible for the development and sustaining of strong customer relationships (freight forwarders, contract service providers, retail, and other revenue sources) and direct solicitation to said customers.
·        Meet revenue targets through the execution of pre-planned sales and measure results against plans.
·        Oversee, monitor, and evaluate the operation's performance to ensure increased profitability, productivity, and market share.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·        The applicant for the Uganda Airlines Cargo Manager job must hold a University degree or equivalent, A professional certification will be an added advantage.
·        Strong knowledge of airline technologies, processes, regulations, and standards as applicable to cargo operations. (Such as IATA, ISAGO).
·        Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other appropriate IT tools.
·        Proven experience in Cargo at Senior Management level for at least ten (10) years.

Job Summary:  The Captain CRJ900 will be designated for each flight under the Uganda Airlines Operations. The Captain will be in charge of the safety, security, and conduct of flight while on duty and supervise all actions and activities of other crew members who work on that flight.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
·        Have authority for the overall management of the entire flight, ensuring the safety and security of the Aircraft and persons on board.
·        Ensure that all operational procedures and checklists are complied with in accordance with the Operations Manual.
·        Ensure that, during flight operations, the entire crew adheres to flight duty limitations.
·        Transportation of any parcels must be in accordance with safety and security procedures.
·        He maintains good CRM, encourages teamwork, and ensures that his crew members receive all information essential for the performance of their tasks.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·        The applicant for the Uganda Airlines Captain CRJ900 job must hold a valid ATPL and IR.
·        4000 hours of flying experience (inclusive 2000 hours jet)
·        500 hours PIC on CRJ family is an added advantage.
·        Hold a Class 1 Medical.
·        No Accident or Incident record.
·        No criminal record.
·        English language proficiency level 4 minimum.
·        Individual assessments for satisfactory command ability will be carried out as part of the interview process.
·        TRI/TRE Authorization on CRJ family and being a member of an aviation professional body is an added advantage.
