About us:
Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) is a corporate body responsible for regulation of civil aviation in Uganda. It manages Entebbe International Airport (EIA) and thirteen (13) other upcountry aerodromes. UCAA carries out its work in conformity with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs)

Job Summary: The position exists to provide an Information Technology platform for CAA through writing, developing and customizing lT programmes that result in operational efficiencies and effectiveness thereby contributing towards the attainment of CAA’s objectives and mandate..

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
I.T Management Processes
·       Develops and documents IT programmes and solutions in suppon of the business
·       Customizes programmes to suit CAA needs and conditions.
·       Verifies all specifications for new programmes and makes input before they are purchased.
·       Verifies for consistence and relevance to CAA requirements.
·       Understands the business to ensure providing relevant and adequate lT programmes.
·       Ensures that the internal users of the lT solutions are trained and developedlto take advantage of the full lT solutions.
·       Provides back up maintenance and support of all programmes.
·       Ensures security of all CAA programmes.
·       Scans the technological horizon and networks with other Civil Aviation IT Officers as well as lT industry as a whole to ensure IT programmes at CAA are in line with world trends.
·       Participates in lCT Innovation activities within the IT Department.
Customer Satisfaction
·       Understands the needs of the departments and offers IT solutions to resolve these needs
·       Reviews the customers‘ needs and integrates the needs with best practice develops programmes for them
·       Ensures that upgrades are effected timely to enhance effectiveness of programmes
·       Carries out any other lawful assignment allocated by the immediate supervisor and/or Management.
·       The Job holder is cooperative and readily responds to any ad hoc tasks assigned to him


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·       The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelors‘ degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics or Physics
·       At least 3 years’ relevant work experience

Job Summary: The Reservation and Ticketing Officer will be responsible for making and confirming reservations for passengers, selling tickets for the airline and reporting to the Station Manager/ Sales Manager. He/ she is responsible for receiving revenue from sales and issuing tickets and receipts to customers. He/ she provides assistance to customers with special needs or requirements whenever necessary.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Make and confirm reservations for passengers.
  • Arrange reservations and itineraries using flight timetables, airline manuals, reference guides, and tariff books.
  • Perform a proper flight firming check to maximize flight utilization and Reduce No-shows.
  • Assist passengers with complaints and other concerns.
  • Issue tickets and Passenger Travel Advisories quoting correct fare to reduce passenger complaints and debit notes.
  • Advise passengers on changes in flight schedules, cancellations or confirm reservations.
  • Maintain inventory of available passenger space on flights.
  • Advise load control personnel and other stations of changes in passenger itinerary to control space and ensure utilization of seating capacity on flights.
  • Ensure that the sales report is closed on time.
  • Promote Uganda Airlines product to generate revenue.
  • Record and process reservations made by phone / fax / e-mail; action telex messages and authorities.
  • Assist travel agents with seat confirmations, upgrade/ downgrade proposals.
  • Handle Miscellaneous Charges Order (MCO's) and refunds, process lost and time-barred tickets.
  • Take responsibility for own proficiency development and train and develop other employees, for proper succession planning and risk management.
  • Assist respond to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting the Airlines operations 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal applicant must hold a Diploma in IATA. 
  • Detailed knowledge of computer Reservation Systems and IATA processes, is an added advantage.
  • High level of computer proficiency.
  • A minimum 2 years of demonstrable work experience in Reservations and Ticketing.
  • Experience in Call Centre or end user support is an added advantage

Job Summary: The materials Management Officer reports to the materials manager and is responsible for the day to day planning of all maintenance material requirements to cover parts, tools, and expendable materials.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure quality and quantity of aircraft spares, tools and other equipment used for aircraft maintenance is adequate for the operation;
  • Deliver serviceable aircraft/materials/components to the operation on time, in a cost-effective manner and in compliance with legal and company requirements;
  • Process procurement of materials and services required for the maintenance operation and ensure only parts from approved sources are obtained;
  • Provide inputs to the procurement department in terms of parts, equipment and tools procurement.
  • Control the inventory and ensure availability of spares to meet aircraft demands, whilst minimizing costs;
  • Periodically review reorder levels and quantities for all spares, on the basis of required Service Level, Forecast Demand and Lead Time; ensure timely replenishing of materials when the available quantity falls below reorder levels;
  • Control and monitor all the clearing agents in charge of the clearing and forwarding of company spares/materials;
  • Monitor supplier performance;
  • Ensure that adequate planning is done to ensure that no stock out levels are reached for parts.
  • Ensures accurate records are kept for all purchasing and logistics activities and inventories in compliance with all industry and Regulatory authority requirements;
  • Responsible for the implementation of safety management systems processes in line maintenance operations.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate must hold a  Degree or Diploma in procurement, materials, logistics, stores management;
  • Experience in Aviation procurement and or logistics management;
  • Knowledge of Technical Stores management and requirements ;
  • Must be computer literate with knowledge and skills in computerized software and programs; Conversant with the tendering and procurement process requirements.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Oversee and supervise employees including directing daily activities, recruitment, training, development and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
·         Take the lead in setting up airline sales offices across the network, finding Handle any other tasks that may be assigned by your supervisor


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·         The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree in commerce, business administration or closely related discipline.
·         At least seven years of experience in a sales and marketing department in a recognized setting/organization.
·         Airline commercial management experience with demonstrated competencies in e-commerce.
·         Knowledge of digital marketing techniques and technology based product distribution systems, sales channels and setting up a call center.
·         Knowledge of airline pricing, revenue management, interline services, and IATA airline practices
·         Able to manage multiple start-up stations across the target airline network with ability to negotiate effectively at all levels.
·         Ability to coordinate multiple activities, including travel agency, GSA, tour operator, OTA relationships, office set-up, establishing contracts, recruitment of staff, building-up sales channels and preparing for inaugural events.
·         Strong mentoring, coaching and managerial capability, with good communication and negotiation skills.
·         High level of integrity and professionalism with a clean track record of performance.
