Job Summary:  The Network Planning & Scheduling Executive will develop route network related recommendations and high utilization schedules in line with the strategic and financial needs of the business. This role includes, but is not limited to, market and competitor assessment, route and new base choice, capacity allocation, bilateral designations, license approvals, schedule development/maintenance and slot coordination.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Create schedules that effectively utilizes aircraft resources
  • Improve aircraft and fleet utilization
  • Implement successful scheduling strategies
  • Review passenger traffic demand, flight schedule data and optimization tools
  • Building relationships with airports and third parties (regions, tourism bodies, etc.);
  • Assessing new markets based on strategic fit, financial potential, growth opportunity, risks, and possible entry points;
  • Determining new routes and bases to add to the network;
  • Providing financial forecasts for potential new routes and bases;
  • Building and maintaining financial evaluation tools as required;
  • Working with the revenue management team to determine amendments to existing routes, frequencies, and airports;
  • Assessing competition in terms of strategic plans, seasonal developments in capacity and fares, analyzing strengths/weaknesses and recommending actions based on the risks and opportunities;
  • Assessing and interpreting the market, economic and industry trends and the impact on route choice;
  • Managing the base mix cost to ensure it does not exceed budgeted costs;
Schedule responsibilities:
  • Developing schedules which utilize crew manpower and aircraft efficiently and effectively;
  • Loading and managing flight capacity in the scheduling and flight operation systems;
  • Building and managing relationships with slot co-coordinators throughout Europe;
  • Securing and maintaining airport slots for future schedules;
  • Aligning and managing the communication and approval process between the scheduling and operational departments;
  • Coordinating data analysis with revenue management to improve revenue generation of different schedule scenarios;
  • Developing robust schedule tools to improve efficiency;
  • Managing IT system development projects related to scheduling, network & slot management;
Regulatory responsibilities:
  • Building and maintaining relationships with applicable CAA’s;
  • Monitoring and negotiating bilateral agreements in relevant markets;
  • Securing route permits in a timely manner;


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Job Summary:    The Maintenance Engineer will do daily work on the aircraft and ensure that the aircraft is available and departs on time, all defects are rectified and troubleshooting is done on time. He/she will also be responsible for ensuring that all scheduled checks are completed on time

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The Maintenance Engineer will be involved in the day to day work on the aircraft. He shall be the initial point of contact whenever maintenance is to be done. The line maintenance engineer shall report to the maintenance manager and shall work hand in hand with the approved maintenance organisation. In addition, he/she shall also:
  • Carry out maintenance tasks (scheduled and unscheduled) in the hangar and on line as per approved maintenance program (i.e. inspections, repairs, defect rectifications, alterations and modifications, replacements, functional tests) to assure continued airworthiness, mechanical and structural integrity of aircraft, engines, components, equipment and systems.
  • Strict compliance to airworthiness regulations and applicable approved data/instructions for maintenance tasks carried out.
  • Ensuring that all defects are rectified and aircraft/aircraft component certified on time prior to release to service.
  • Ensuring that safety standards are adhered to before attempting any maintenance tasks to avoid injury of personnel and/or equipment damage.
  • Review of cabin defects and rectifying them before releasing an aircraft for flight.
  • Ensuring that all aircraft certificates/licenses and manuals are up-to-date and amended before use.
  • Meeting and debriefing the pilots on every aircraft arrival and carrying out appropriate tasks as outlined in the Approved Maintenance Program (prefight, transit, weekly, daily, etc) and performing all other duties that he/she may be assigned.
  • Reporting and recording any abnormal conditions of wear, damage etc. on aircraft, part or component when identified.
  • Ensuring that all defective components/ parts removed from the aircraft have appropriately filled and signed documentation before handing them over to the stores.
  • Performing Pre-flight Inspections and aircraft technical dispatch services
  • Supervising all tasks assigned to and carried out by aircraft technicians including but not limited to aircraft fueling/defueling, aircraft external cleaning, tool and equipment handling, etc
  • Responsible for toolbox and tools management and control during and after maintenance
  • Accomplishment of any work assigned to him by his/her superior


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Uganda Airlines Maintenance Engineer job placement must hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License Airframes, Engines (Gas turbine engines) or Avionics (Electrical, Instruments, Autopilots, Radios).
  • At least two years in the capacity of returning aircraft to service; and
  • Equivalent experience of five years in an aviation line maintenance setting.
  • A type rating on Uganda Airlines Fleet or CRJ aircraft will be an added advantage.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·         Carry out research of various destinations and means of travel regarding prices, customs, weather conditions, reviews etc.

Job Summary:  The Fuel Distribution System Operator is responsible for performing fuel service operations and to manage the reception, storage, and shipping of bulk or packaged petroleum based products. The FS provides oversight and advisor service for all POL operations, maintenance and quality assurance. FS operates program-owned fueling/defueling equipment and assists in maintaining same.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Complies with all applicable manuals, rules and regulations as it pertains to safely handling and storing all POL products on site.
  • Assists in maximizing program assets
  • Receive and stock bulk and package products
  • Issue and dispense bulk fuels and water from storage and distribution facilities to using units
  • Select and submit samples to laboratory for testing as required
  • Perform petroleum and water accounting duties
  • Operate equipment used with petroleum and water distribution system and multi-product pipeline system as required
  • Evaluate test results with specification requirements and makes recommendations regarding product disposition
  • Receive samples and conduct tests on petroleum products
  • Report findings in accordance with American Society for Testing and Materials testing methods
  • Apply fire prevention and safety control procedures in handling volatile products
  • Position requires a U.S. Department of State Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT).

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a High School diploma or GED.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in aircraft refueling and defueling operations.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in operating fuel distribution points or terminals
  • Ability to wear PPE and perform all duties while wearing PPE.
  • Ability to correctly sample and test petroleum products.
  • Ability to react to spills correctly and operate a recovery plan successfully.

The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit organization which is a partnership of infectious diseases and public health specialists. The overall objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems with strong emphasis on Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity Development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University - John Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach.

Job Summary:  The Project Coordinator/Engineer will support the development planning, implementation and evaluations of innovations that support supply of medications and diagnostics to hard-to-reach areas. They will be required to liaise between different multi-disciplinary team members implementing the protect including medical, pharmacy, logistics, pilots, software developers and field medical staff. They will also need to liaise with policymakers and other implementing partners at a national and local level. They will be the lead communication between the core and field teams. They will ensure that the team adheres to strict timelines in this deadline-sensitive project. This project will require frequent travel to hard to reach areas including Kalangala District, Western Nile region and others.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To explore and research different mechanisms for providing supply chain services in hard to reach areas populations in Uganda and lastmile health including but not limited to are transport land transport, boats
  • To develop and implementation plan for the project
  • To lead ongoing necessary regulatory approvals for the project
  • Provide leadership and coordination project in the context of the facility community framework, working with in charges, implementing partners and government agendas.
  • Assist in conducting capacity building and technical assistance initiatives for quality improvement and assurance. He/she will also coordinate trainings and on site mentorships on quality improvement and assurance.
  • Generate and submittal required reports in regard to quality improvement and assurance
  • To work with the research team to develop a research protocol for the implementation .
