About US:
The Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency (CASSOA) is a self-accounting institution of the East African Community. The Agency is looking for a highly motivated, result-driven and qualified professional from citizens of the Republics of Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda and United Republic of Tanzania to fill the following position in the Agency

 Job Summary:  The Director, Technical is a senior management position under the supervision of the Executive Director. The main purpose of the job is to develop, promote and coordinate implementation of sustainable civil aviation safety and security oversight systems in the EAC Partner States as directed by the EAC-CASSOA Board.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Coordinates the production and dissemination of the EAC Safety and Security publications;
  • Coordinates the implementation of East African Civil Aviation Examination System
  • Coordinates implementation of State Safety Programmes and Safety Management Systems within the EAC Partner States.
  • Coordinates the dissemination of aviation safety and security regulations and technical guidance materials to the Partner States;
  • Coordinates training activities including development and updating of technical training manuals and guidance material;
  • Coordinates the collection and collation of aviation safety and security material required for the development of guidance material, training, seminars and workshops;
  • Maintains up to date records of available aviation safety and security inspectors, aircraft register, licensed aviation personnel, and a list of air operators (AOC holders, AMOs, ATOs) among other relevant records in the region;
  • Coordinates the sensitisation of aviation stakeholders and consideration of their comments on the CASSOA harmonised aviation safety and security regulations and technical guidance materials;
  • Ensures that logistics required for seminars, workshops and training courses are up to date and readily available;
  • Ensures timely production and distribution of the Agency’s deliverables such as reports, regulations, technical guidance materials, and timely sensitive correspondence with the Partner States and international civil aviation bodies;
  • Keeps abreast with developments and trends in the specialized field of concern to the Agency by reviewing among others, the relevant periodicals, reports and manuals;
  • Coordinates the development and implementation of plans and strategies that lead to increased cooperation in safety and security oversight;
  • Supervises and assesses the technical staff under his/her supervision;
  • Performs other assignments as directed by the Executive Director;


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field of aviation/related discipline from a recognized university.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in the aviation industry, five of which are at a senior managerial level and/or leadership position.
  • Should possess a wide knowledge in flight safety, flight operations, airports management, and aircraft maintenance.
  • Should have adequate knowledge of ICAO systems and procedures.
  • Should have basic knowledge and experience in financial and human resource management and administration.
  • Should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially of Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills;
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong teamwork, ethic, positive, flexible attitude;
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Age Limit: Applicants should not be more than 55 years old by 1st January 2019.

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is a corporate body responsible tor regulation of civil aviation in Uganda. It manages Entebbe international Airport (EIA) and thirteen (13) other upcountry aerodromes. CAA carries out its work in conformity with international Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).

Job Summary:  The Graduate Trainee will acquire the rare professional and technical skills in the various fields within the Aviation Industry. This will include Project management, Maintenance/installation, Planning and Documentation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The Graduate Trainee will acquaint self with the operations of ICAO, the Uganda CAA and the Directorates of Air Navigation Services, Airports & Aviation Security and Safety, Security & Economic Regulation.
  • Actively participate in the implementation of ICAO Annex requirements.
  • The jobholder will be deployed in various areas including:-a) Communication, Navigation and surveillance (CNS) b) Air Traffic Management (ATM), c) Electrical & Electronics, d) Aircraft Maintenance Engineering e) Flight Operations and f) Aerodrome Civil and Electrical system units of Civil Aviation Authority-Uganda. NB: Applicants should indicate their areas of preference.
  • The Trainee will participate in a 24 Hour (7 days shift) at Entebbe and other Upcountry Aerodromes like Gulu, Soroti, Arua and Mbarara, among others.
  • Perform any other duty related training as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or Management from time to time.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Graduate Trainee must hold an honors Bachelor of Science degree from a recognized university majoring in any of the following disciplines; Civil Engineering,  Electrical & Electronics Engineering,  Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering (Aeronautics), Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Mathematics and Physics.
  • Applicants who possess a Pilot’s License or an Aircraft Maintenance License will be at an added advantage
  • Prior working experience is not an essential requirement though desirable.
  • Ready to accept posting to any upcountry aerodrome as and when required.

Several No Experience A' Level Cabin Crew Jobs - Uganda Airlines

Uganda Airlines is the National Carrier of the Republic of Uganda based at Entebbe International Airport. It is headquartered in Entebbe, Wakiso District, Uganda, and operates from its hub in Entebbe International Airport. 

Job Summary:   The Cabin Crew member is responsible for safety and comfort of passengers on Uganda Airlines flights. He/ she will be responsible for preparing the aircraft cabins for flights. He/ She is the front line representative of the company to the passengers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide customer service to passengers while ensuring their safety and comfort  throughout the flight.
  • Deal with security and emergency situations which may arise on board, including administering first aid on board.
  • Ensure that all emergency equipment is in working order prior to flight and that there are adequate supplies on board.
  • Assist passengers board the plane and give a demonstration of safety procedures and equipment.
  • Ensure passenger comfort on board to enhance pleasant flight experience.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Uganda Airlines Cabin Crew job placement must hold a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (“A” Level)
  • Fluency in all four skills of English (understanding, speaking, reading, writing).
  • Ability to speak another language (e.g. Kiswahili or French) is an added advantage.
  • A Certificate from a recognized aviation training organization for Cabin Crew is an added advantage.
  • Pleasing personality, at least 20 years old, and a good eyesight.
  • Height between 5feet 2inches (1.57m) and 6feet 2inches (1.88m) with minimum arm reach of 6feet 11inches (2.12m) while standing on tiptoes.
  • No visible tattoos or body piercing. Tattoos or piercings must not be visible on the body or through uniform clothing and CANNOT be covered up with make-up or plasters.
  • Must successfully pass a functional assessment — must be able to lift 23 kg (50 pounds) from the floor to waist, and 10 kg (22 pounds) overhead.
  • Must know and be able to swim at least 50 meters.
  • Holder of a valid passport and a Ugandan National ID.
  • Be able to provide satisfactory references and ready to undergo a Criminal Record Check.
  • Should be healthy and ready to undergo a medical examination.
  • Be able to work shifts (within the local legal limits and per ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices) covering any part of the 24 hours of the day as may be required by the company for the entire career. Flexible availability within the said hours will be required.
  • Prior experience as a Cabin Attendant is an added advantage.

Job Summary:   The Manager Security will be responsible for managing the airline’s operational security functions and ensure that all staff and passengers comply with aviation security regulations. He/she will is also responsible for ensuring the safety of the public and his security staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Monitor the security status of the airport and recognize any possible threats or concerns.
  • Analyze all the reports on security and inspections to ensure they are in accordance with security procedures.
  • Deal with any issue that does not comply with the standard security procedures.
  • Take lead on selection, recruitment and deployment of security employees.
  • Participate in performing background checks on the employees that are hired.
  • Ensure the orientation and training of new security staff.
  • Conduct inspections of security on a daily basis around airline operational premises.
  • Plan out an evacuation strategy and implement it incase such a situation arises.
  • Routinely review security footages to identify suspicious activity.
  • Coordinate with other security agencies.
  • Update the airline security database regarding wanted individuals.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Uganda Airlines Manager Security job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Management, Public Administration, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Aviation Science or any other related field from a recognized University  or institution.
  • Knowledge of and experience in airport security operations will be of added advantage.
  • Experienced professional in security management with a supervisory or managerial position.
  • Detailed knowledge of public security and safety in an airport setting.
  • Knowledge of security equipment and procedures that guarantee the safety of an airport.
  • Adequate knowledge of all local, national and international airport security requirements.

Job Summary:  The Senior Aerodrome inspector- Aerodrome Design (Standards Unit) will conduct effective safety oversight activities in construction and operation of aerodromes with the objective of enhancing sate operation of aircraft in compliance with national and international standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Developing and Reviewing Aerodrome Standards.
  • Receive and implement ICAO state letters regarding aerodromes, prepare responses and take action there on in a timely manner.
  • Develop and continuously review national standards and regulations for aerodrome design, operation and maintenance and engineering specifications.
  • Developing and reviewing Technical Guidance Material relating to Aerodrome Visual aids, maintenance
  • Develop and issue orders, rules, advisory circulars and guidance material relating to aerodrome standards and practices.
  • Provide guidance during design and construction of new aerodrommes, heliports, facilities or equipment.
  • Provide guidance at the design and construction stages of Aerodrome projects, particularly complex projects or where there is significant work that may impact compliance with the regulations.
  • Review plans and designs for new aerodromes or further development or modification of existing aerodromes submitted to the CAA for approval to ensure that they meet ICAO SARPS and that state national regulations are complied with.
  • Participate in inspections and safety audits at aerodromes
  • Carry out inspection and audit of aerodrome visual aids and electrical systems.
  • Checking for potentially hazardous conditions during major installations or construction work such as excavations to ensure safety assessments have been done and adequate safety measures such as marking and fighting of temporary thresholds have been undertaken.
  • Participate in night inspections including the evaluation and checking for compliance with standards related to runway, taxiway, and apron lighting and signage, aerodrome beacons, wind direction indicators, obstacle lighting and marking and lighting of construction areas.
  • Verification of the aerodrome data in the aerodrome manual
  • Participate in review of aerodrome manuals submitted for certification and licensing.
  • Verify details of the aerodrome visual aids
  • On-site verification and audits of aerodrome operating procedures.
  • Verity procedures for inspection and maintenance of aerodrome visual aids.
  • Verity procedures for operator's daily inspection of the aerodrome
  • The planning and carrying out of aerodrome construction and maintenance work including compliance with construction safety requirements.
  • The monitoring of obstacle limitation surfaces and notification.
  • Check for the protection of radar and navigational aids including laser free zones.
  • Onsite checking and testing of aerodrome facilities and equipment.
  • Checks on Aeronautical ground lighting systems including flight checkl calibration records.
  • Carry out checks on Standby power supplies.
  • Check Landing Direction indicators, Aerodrome Markings and Markers.
  • Check Aerodrome Maintenance Equipment
  • Check for presence of dangerous lights.
  • Flying assessments and Aeronautical studies at aerodromes
  • Organize flying assessments at aerodromes and conduct aeronautical studies if and where permitted by standards and practices
Other Safety Functions
  • Evaluating the impact of proposed developments in the vicinity of aerodromes to ensure that such proposed developments do not penetrate the Obstacles Limitation Surfaces and advising potential developers accordingly.
  • Educate and advise aerodrome operators inspectors on aerodrome standards and recommended practices.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Senior Aerodrome inspector- Aerodrome Design (Standards Unit) job placement must hold an honours Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional qualification in Airport Engineering is an added advantage
  • Five years’ relevant work experience, 3 of which should be at a Supervisory level position in aerodrome operations, airport planning/design, construction, or maintenance.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of established principles, practices and procedures relevant to aerodrome safety regulation function, including ICAO Annex 14 standards and recommended practices and associated guidance material relating to the regulation of aerodromes;
  • Experience in quality or safety management systems is an added advantage.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Age: Between 35 to 50 years
