Job Summary:  The Internal Audit Executive will work within the team in the effective discharge of the department responsibilities by proactively supporting the audit function.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·         Analyze and evaluate the accuracy of accounting systems and procedures.
·         Prepare or contribute to the preparation of work plan (including risk assessment) and audit programs for assurance.
·         Assess the reliability and effective use of internal controls and assist in reviewing administrative procedures.
·         For the processes audited, review and evaluate the system of management controls and assess their adequacy and effectiveness – where appropriate draft potential recommendations for improvement.
·         Prepare audit paperwork in accordance with standards and requirement.
·         Verification of sales Revenue both Local and Export to ensure that rates charged are as per the approved price list.
·         Daily Monitoring of cash books both USD & UGX to ensure that the corresponding banking is reflected in company books at the right amounts banked.
·         Review of various supplier invoices before payments and ensuring that after posting all the VAT relating to purchases is booked in the claim A/c.
·         Report weakness of the software and hardware systems of the company through studies.
·         Check and inspect the accuracy of accounts receivable and payable ledgers.
·         Verifying Returned stocks in line of quantity, quality and ensuring that return in wards are raised for credit note.
·         Evaluating the accuracy of the Weighbridge through the daily tonnage analysis.
·         Monthly Reconciliation of on line stock transfers and confirming stock adjustments.
·         Handling excess, less & wrong production issues & their disposal
·         Review and reconciliation of time and attendance records with payroll
·         Verification of refund requests & credit notes before and after posting
·         Assist the senior internal audit executives while carrying out the post audits of the various departments
·         Establish good working relationships with company staff and clients
·         Ready to take on any other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·         The ideal candidate for the Roofings Group Internal Audit Executive job must hold a bachelor’s degree in B.B.A/B.COM - accounting, finance or economics major
·         Stage II – ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CIA or other internationally recognised professional accounting qualification would be advantageous
·         At least two to three years of relevant experience in a reputable company
·         Sound knowledge of accounting software, MS Excel
·         Good understanding of the internal audit policies, procedures and applying them appropriately in practice
·         Working knowledge of ERP would be advantageous

The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) was established under “The Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act, 2001 ” to regulate and guide the establishment and management of institutions of higher learning, regulate the quality of higher education, equating of qualifications and to advise government on higher education issues.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Handles day to day internal audit matters;
  • Supports the planning and scheduling of business activities in the internal Audit Unit;
  • Supports the determination of the adequacy of NCHE Secretariat's network of risk management, control and governance processes as designed and represented by Management;
  • Assists in determining whether the resources are acquired economically, used efficiently, accounted for accurately and protected adequately by NCHE Secretariat;
  • Assists in the reviews of reliability and integrity of financial and operating information and the means used to identify, classify and report such information;
  • Assists in the reviews of systems established t_o ensure compliance with policies, plans, procedures and regulations laid down by Council as well as the Laws of Uganda;
  • Assists in carrying out special investigations, management consultancy and independent reviews in areas related to fraud control, risk management, safety and security and other areas as determined by the Audit and Risk Management Committee;

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • At least three (3) years’ experience of financial auditing in a reputable institution;
  • Must be ICT literate capable of using word processing, spreadsheets and database software packages;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Knowledge of financial management in higher education institution CV is desirable.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Support the Board Audit and Risk committee in ensuring the identification and prioritization of risks and reporting on the same.

Job Summary:  The Monitoring Assistant will take responsibility for completion of a range of processes and activities related to monitoring that require some interpretation of standard guidelines/practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to other support staff. The incumbent will coordinate and perform monitoring activities within a specific coverage area and provide reports to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Verify the planned movements and distribution of food or non-food items, resolving routine issues and escalating where appropriate, to ensure that the quantity distributed and the quality of the operation is in line with WFP standards.
  • Collect and summarise assistance programme(s) data, collaborating with cooperating partners where required, conduct analysis and prepare reports in order to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.
  • Liaise with cooperating partners and internal counterparts to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve services.
  • Suggest improvements to field monitoring processes and procedures for efficient implementation of the assistance programmes.
  • Arrange for regular meetings with community leaders and cooperating partners on commodity pipeline, distribution arrangements, food entitlements and other relevant issues to support effective communication flow and efficient operations.
  • Allocate tasks to other staff, providing guidance and on-the-job training to support their development and high performance.
  • Provide standard trainings for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to independently self-monitor and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.

  • Follow set emergency response processes and procedures for emergency food assistance.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the United Nations UN World Food Programme (WFP) Monitoring Assistant job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Nutrition, Agriculture, Commerce, ICT related or any other related field;
  • At least three years of relevant working experience in either of the following fields, agriculture production, relief, humanitarian intervention, statistics, social administration and community mobilization;
  • Proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software packages, such as Microsoft Word;
  • Good knowledge and skills using data management packages;
  • Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information to a wide range of individuals;
  • Ability to identify data discrepancies and rectify problems requiring attention;

National Medical Stores is an autonomous Corporation that was established by an Act of Parliament 1993. Our mandate is to procure, store and distribute medicines and other medical supplies to public health facilities in Uganda.

Job Summary:  The Internal Auditor will conduct audits of Accounting and I.T records, and transactions as well as for other systems, procedures and processes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Carrying out audit of pretty cash accountabilities prior to replenishment
  • Verify payments up to 20 million (USD 10,000) according to NMS policies and procures.
  • Carrying out audits of stocks receipts, management, dispatch as well as fleet management reviews, audits of tax liabilities, and audit assignments as required from time to time.
  • Carry out audit of recorded transactions related to procurement bidding, tendering & evaluation processes
  • Assist in the performance of special reviews requested by Management and Board of directors.
  • Maintain knowledge of current accounting and auditing practices through continuing professional education.
  • Exercise professional judgment to determine materiality of findings and adequacy and effectiveness of the operation.
  • Perform audits in the area of Information Technology
  • With guidance from Senior Internal Auditor, determine the direction and extent of assigned audits. Prepare the program and procedures which may include statistical sampling and electronic data processing. Prepare working papers supporting opinions presented in the report to Management
  • To identify any risk(s) noted during the course of execution of your duties and formally report to your immediate supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the National Medical Stores (NMS) Internal Auditor job must hold an Honours Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related Computer Science with full CPA or ACCA OR an Honours Degree in Business Administration/Commerce with a Diploma in Information Technology and at least Level II of CPA or ACCA
  • Possession of a professional audit/accounting qualification such as CIA, CIMA, ACA or an equivalent shall be an added advantage
