About Organisation:
The Financial Intelligence Authority (FIA), is a government agency established by the Parliament of Uganda to monitor, investigate, and prevent money laundering in the country. It is also responsible for the enforcement of Uganda’s anti-money laundering laws and the monitoring of all financial transactions inside the country’s borders.
Job Summary: To collect, analyze, and interpret data to support statistical reporting and evidence-based decision-making within the Authority.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect and compile data from various sources for statistical analysis and reporting.
- Apply statistical methods to analyse data and identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Maintain and update statistical databases and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Generate statistical reports and dashboards to support planning and decision-making.
- Develop data collection instruments, including surveys and questionnaires, in line with the Authority’s needs
- Conduct quality assurance checks on data collection and analysis processes.
- Support departments in the use of statistical tools and techniques for project evaluation and reporting.
- Contribute to the preparation of periodic performance and compliance reports.
- Ensure compliance with statistical standards and best practices.
- Provide technical support in data visualization and presentation for stakeholders.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution.

- Knowledge and understanding of the Authority’s vision, mission, and objectives.
- Proficiency in statistical software and tools (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, Python, or Excel).
- Ability to collect, organize, and analyse complex datasets accurately.
- Knowledge of data management and quality assurance practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.
