Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Depot Manager to lead our depot operations. This pivotal role requires managing daily fuel depot activities, ensuring safety compliance, optimizing logistics, and leading a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee depot operations, including receipt, storage, and dispatch of products
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular reconciliation and stock controls
- Enforce HSSEQ and regulatory protocols in line with company and statutory standards
- Coordinate with drivers, and the operations team to ensure timely delivery of products
- Monitor preventive maintenance of tanks, pumps, generators, and safety systems
- Manage depot documentation for audits, compliance, and stakeholder reviews
- Conduct risk assessments and implement Management of Change (MOC) procedures
- Lead, coach, and develop a depot team; manage staffing and performance
- Responding to operational incidents and customer concerns
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Chemistry, or related technical field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in petroleum or logistics depot operations
- NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent certification required
- Practical knowledge 9001 (Quality Management Systems), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems) standards.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in inventory systems (ERP/Excel) and operational reporting
- High commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance
