Key Duties and Responsibilities:
To support the Head, PPB in driving and executing the PPB strategy tracking performance against set targets and coordinating the various PPB business units to ensure delivery against the set objectives and strategy implementation. Will guide and advise Business Leads, Business managers and programme managers in the implementation and delivery of programmes, projects and initiatives across Personal & Private Banking (PPB) to influence the delivery of strategic imperatives, operational efficiencies, while managing trade-offs in the best interests of the function as well as tracking of business performance and financial measures to accelerate delivery against strategic business goals.
Act as a sound advisor and consultant to the Head, PPB Uganda through the full understanding of the PPB’s context and strategy, unpacking key challenges and/or opportunities, options and choices and potential implications (both positive and negative) to make informed decisions.
Assess the financial impact of strategic initiatives, enabling the Head, PPB Uganda to make decisions based on the analysis and articulated impact on strategic objectives.
Compare the strategies as developed, with those of ‘best-in-the-class’ PPB businesses , to support Head, PPB Uganda in closing any gaps that may exist relative to the industry leaders, allowing for business development and working towards becoming a dominating business in the required sectors.
Tracking budgets for the Head, PPB Uganda using financial acumen, to support the development of business cases and the motivation thereof.
Conduct research in a multitude of subjects, at a macro and micro level, in order to ensure that the Head, PPB Uganda has all the required information in hand for stakeholder engagements, communications, events, interviews, etc.; provide insights that enable the Head, PPB Uganda to gain a good understanding of any matter.
Integrate strategic development initiatives, projects and capabilities through successful relationship management with relevant internal and external stakeholders, in order to promote strategic outcomes across the Head, PPB Uganda.
Manage and drive key projects and initiatives critical to the Head, PPB Uganda ensuring these are executed as per plan and create the expected impact; ensuring these projects and initiatives foster and promote the Head, PPB Uganda and the organisation’s reputation and image, by collaborating across functions, to influence and drive the agenda with key stakeholders.
Provide a swift and efficient response to customer complaints that have been escalated to the Head, PPB ensuring efficient resolution and promoting customer service excellence whilst driving the client centricity agenda.
Manage the reporting cycles for the Head, PPB including the monthly Exco reports, quarterly Board packs and annual report; compile the sections that are allocated to the Head, PPB ensuring adherence to reporting requirements, quality and bearing of the information presented and sharpness of the communication channelled by the Head, PPB. Preparation and submission of all reports and proactive tracking
Provide input into the development of risk mitigation strategies for the Head PPB’s Office; implement the set strategies related to the Risk and Regulatory environment, supporting the successful management of risk within the Bank. Tracking all Risk, Audit and Compliance matters including pending Audit Items follow up to ensure a green risk dashboard and environment and preparation of all reports. Follow up with the teams for this as well to ensure full compliance of all matters.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Type of Qualification: First Degree
- Field of Study: Business Commerce or related
Experience Required
- 5-7 years experience with considerable business acumen and understanding of the organisation and industry, gained from a track record of 5+ years in advisory roles
- 5-7 years sound understanding of local, regional and international economic forces, gained through research and insights gained in key strategic roles
- Track record of 5+ years in advisory roles, who is capable of providing insights and guidance to the executive.
