About US:
Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage electricity distribution networks and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. The company monitors Umeme Ltd and other Concessionaires in Uganda, directly distributes of power in Ten (10) territories covering over 86 rural and border districts, operates a modern pole plant at Lugogo, and executes key rural electrification schemes on behalf of Government of Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Study and support developed, plans to address quality of supply issues.
- Implement Load flow simulations for the distribution network
- Support efficient planning of loss reduction projects on the distribution network (both commercial and technical loss reduction projects)
- Support the cost of non-standard services
- Support in the commissioning of contractors’ works
- Support in the designing of commercial schemes.
- Support the updates of the Network GIS database at all times.
- Prepare a comprehensive report at the end of the training programme
- Carry out different duties in the department as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering
- One year of working experience in an Electricity oriented entity
- Self-motivated and Eager to learn.
