Job Summary:   The Banker, Personal will manage new and existing customer relationships by identifying and fulfilling their needs while managing the risks associated with new accounts, mandates and specimen signatures.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the service standards and provide excellent customer service
  • To take demand from personal customers for any banking matters ranging from product questions to customer account activities (e.g., opening accounts, statements, debit order information, etc.), whilst forming an accurate assessment and understanding of that demand in order to act on it in a one-and-done manner that consistently delivers what matters to the customer within product and legislative (e.g., FAIS) parameters.
  • Receive and verify account transfer and amendment documents and submit them to the Account Analyst for processing as per laid down procedures
  • Adhere to the KYC policies and guidelines for both account opening and loan origination documents
  • Manage credit and operational risk in account opening and loan processing as per laid down procedures

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the Stanbic Bank job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in business studies or a related field from a recognized university.
  • At least two years branch banking experience
  • Previous sales experience
  • Good knowledge of the Personal Banking value proposition
  • Sound knowledge of bank products/services
  • Sound knowledge of the bank’s policies and procedures relating to all areas under his/her control.
  • Understanding of financial statements
  • Knowledge of competitor products and services
