Job Summary:   Enabel in Uganda is seeking to recruit a dynamic and competent individual to fill the position of Gender and Inclusion Officer based in Kampala with frequent travel to the field especially  in the areas of Busoga, West Nile, Albertine and Rwenzori Sub Region.

 

The person is responsible for  ensuring gender transformative outcomes in the Enabel’s projects and specifically in the We Work Project, by undertaking gender and inclusion specific actions and as well ensuring gender and inclusion mainstreaming.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You conduct Gender and Inclusion(G&I) rapid analysis for the relevant sectors as need may arise, map and identify gender and inclusion concerns.
  • You enhance gender and inclusion programming capacity, though, conducting G&I Trainings, awareness raising and advocacy with stakeholders and project teams.
  • You routinely document and update information on G&I so that it is available to the M&E systems and that the performance of the portfolio /intervention can be measured.
  • You participate to technical forums in the Gender and Inclusion area
  • You enhance gender and inclusion programming capacity, though, conducting G&I Trainings, awareness raising and advocacy with stakeholders and project teams.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Gender, Development studies, social sciences or other relevant field related to the area of expertise;
  • At least five years of relevant experience in gender and Inclusion programming;
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in implementation of human rights and community development-based projects
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to demonstrate gender sensitive and non-discriminatory behaviour and attitudes.
  • Good knowledge of gender and women economic empowerment in the communities and in the world of work
  • Good knowledge and understanding of gender, skilling health and/ or education sectors.
  • Experience in gender and inclusion policy, legal and institutional framework in Uganda
  • Knowledgeable about change theories, knowledge management and knowledge building
