Job Summary:   The Banker, Personal will take demand from personal customers for any banking matters ranging from product questions to customer account activities (e.g., opening accounts, statements, debit order information, etc.), whilst forming an accurate assessment and understanding of that demand in order to act on it in a one-and-done manner that consistently delivers what matters to the customer within product and legislative (e.g., FAIS) parameters.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Take demand and enquiries from customers across all mediums, relating to products, account activities, RCPs, Credit Cards and Overdrafts, and provide them with an immediate response or facilitate the completion of the demand as per the laid down procedures and all regulatory requirements (KYC, POPI etc.) in order to deliver service excellence and therefore contribute to the overall profitability of the branch.
  • Understand the risks associated with the customer demand and adhere to all risk and compliance requirements when executing on the demand.
  • Manage the risks associated with new accounts, mandates and specimen signatures by adhering to risk and compliance requirements (e.g., use of online fingerprint verification, scanning at source, eSign, etc.).
  • Disclose to customers that he/she is acting under supervision along with other relevant FAIS disclosures and ensure business processes are followed to ensure the customer receives this in writing.
  • Identify demand generation opportunities while conversing with customers and promote the use of multiple branch and non-branch channels to enhance the opportunity for further sales; capture and log the corresponding documentation and customer information as required by policies and regulations.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the Stanbic Bank Banker, Personal job must hold a first Degree in Business Studies or related field from a reputable university
  • Relevant FAIS qualification and experience
  • Two years of experience with previous experience in branch banking or contact centre environment with good understanding of bank processes, policies and products.
