Job Title:  Project Assistant (3 Fresher NGO Jobs)

IsraAID is an Israel-based non-governmental organization that was founded in 2001 and has since its inception worked in emergency and long-term development settings in over 54 countries. IsraAID’s mission is to support people affected by humanitarian crises by partnering with local communities around the world to provide urgent aid, assist recovery, and reduce the risk of future disasters. IsraAID has operated in Uganda since 2016.

 

Job Summary:   The Project Assistant will provide support in the planning, execution, monitoring and control of the project activities; monitoring work plan execution and in writing project related reports and other documentation and coordinating and scheduling of project meetings.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the link for ISRAAID Psychosocial Sector within the designated location or community and make referrals depending on the child’s needs and complexity of the cases.
  • Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports
  • Supervise a team of Community Outreach Workers in designated villages
  • Cooperate with different community structures in running of project activities
  • Represent ISRAAID in coordination meetings in designated area
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings
  • Attend routine supervision and mentorship sessions with the respective supervisors 8. Performs other related duties as required





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Degree in humanities or any other related field.
  • One year of experience in the relevant field will be an added asset
  • Knowledge of the relevant procedures, rules, regulations and guidelines of CFS is an added advantage
  • Conversant with the local languages (Kiswahili, Kinyarwanda, Somali, Ekirundi)
  • Independent thinker and Team player
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good facilitation and problem solving skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to project, donor, staffing and other changes that may occur throughout the project.
  • No previous or current legal convictions relating to the working with children and adults.
