About US:

Uganda Performing Right Society (UPRS) is a not-for-profit Collective Management Organization (CMO) licensed by the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) under the Copyright Act of Uganda to represent Composers of musical works, Performers, producers, authors, publishers and performers of sound recordings respectively. UPRS is mandated to collect license fees from commercial users of music both public performance and broadcasting to distribute royalties to their respective rights holders.

 

Job Summary:  The Internal Auditor will manage and monitor the organization’s financial risk and compliance. Develop and implement internal audit policies and procedures. Audit and administrative services to meet the CMO requirements of and support UPRS activities and operations.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Examine all company financial records including collections and distribution of royalties.
  • Identify potential non-compliance.
  • Review internal data for potential financial and legal risk.
  • Seek out internal fraud and other forms of misuse of funds.
  • Communicate audit findings through comprehensive reports.
  • Compile and implement an annual audit plan.
  • Develop, implement and maintain internal audit policies and procedures in accordance with best practices.
  • Conduct ad-hoc investigations into reported audit risk cases.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for external audit purposes, and support the supervision of external audits.
  • Spearhead enforcement of audit and audit related policies, procedures and best practice.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the CEO.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • An accredited bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance or a related field.
  • A professional accounting accreditation for ACCA/CPA.
  • Four years of relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Good working knowledge of Accounting software.
  • Previous experience in fraud auditing and or forensic accounting is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Deadline person.
  • Able to perform routine work accurately.
  • Good working knowledge of IFRIS.
