SEC Uganda Volunteer NGO Jobs – Teach A Man To Fish

Job Title:   SEC Uganda Volunteer (working from our Kampala office)   

Organisation: Teach A Man To Fish

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

Salary: UGX 20,000 Per day, two days per week for a period of 5 months

Reports to: Senior Field Officer

This is done by supporting schools to set up educational and profitable school businesses that provide real-life hands-on training and experience for students. This empowers student entrepreneurs with critical workplace, entrepreneurship, and life skills and mindsets so that they can leave school with the competencies to get a good job or run their own successful businesses.

 

We are a small organization with a big reach – Since 2006, we’ve created over 300,000 student entrepreneurs and 18,000 enterprising teachers through our global programs.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Programmes 100%

  • Support on marketing, selection, and sensitization of SEC schools in the selected areas.
  • Support TAMTF Trainers to plan, coordinate and execute teacher and partner training.
  • Support on follow up and technical support for business planning and implementation in SEC schools
  • Support in recruiting a team of Data Collectors to ensure SEC program activities are implemented in line with the approved work plan.
  • Represent Teach A Man To Fish at networking events.
  • Support the Senior Field Officer in submitting accurate and timely cash reconciliations to the Finance and Admin Officer along with receipts for all expenditures.
  • Support the programme team in any other programme related activities.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • A bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Commerce, Business Administration, Development Studies, Adult & Community Education, Business Computing, Accounting, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in a Programs related role
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral
  • Understanding of basic business concepts, including business planning and business management.
  • Ability to use common software packages including Word, Excel, Skype, E-mail
  • Proven ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and work independently
  • Well-developed organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a small team
  • No criminal record.
