Sinopec Service Uganda is engaged in the provision of all project phases service for various sectors, including oil & gas, power, buildings, roads and bridges etc. We are looking for Construction and Project support personnel.

Successful candidates with relevant experience and recognized expertise in large onshore/offshore oil and gas EPC projects will be preferred.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be constructed, modified, maintained and dismantled by persons who are holders of a recognised certificate of competency to carry out scaffolding work.
  • Inspect and tag All scaffolds (Scaff tag)
  • All erected scaffolds shall be entered into the scaffolding register
  • Scaffold inspections shall be conducted at a minimum of every seven (7) days for all scaffolds, and records of the inspections recorded on the Scaff tag and the scaffold register
  • All scaffolds shall be inspected following any adverse weather conditions (high winds, heavy rain etc) and repairs made where necessary.
  • All scaffolds shall be fitted with a Scaff tag which must be clearly marked with the scaffolds load capacity, date erected, erected by, inspection date, inspector.
  • A Work Method Statement is to be prepared and provided, detailing the scope of work, erection methodology, fall prevention, dropped object protection. provide requirement of training/orientation for erection methodology/fall prevention/dropped object protection to all employee for all scaffold requirements prior to commencing in the field.
  • A Job Hazard Analysis is to be undertaken with his/her work crew to identify and record hazards not included in the Work Method Statement. The Work Method Statement, JHEA, Rescue Plan and Permit if required are to be maintained at the work location.
  • Review the JHEA at each morning Pre start meeting with his/her work crew, update where required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A competent certificate issued by Third party who accepted by Total Uganda
  • At least three years of experience in projects, with thorough knowledge of various safety regulations, standards, and procedures
  • A good awareness of other disciplines. Significant responsibility in multi-discipline teams or projects.
