Job Summary: The Project Officer (1) with funds from Micro Business Recovery Support (MBRS) project will work with youth-led enterprises trained in vocational skills with support of WHH Skill Up! Project.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mobilize and sensitize the youth entrepreneurs targeted by the project.
  • Organize mentorship activities and exposure visits for the selected youth entrepreneurs.
  • Conduct analyses that inform the project decisions to support the given enterprises, especially regarding business viability.
  • Support project planning, procurement, preparation of lists for disbursing finances to the selected youth enterprises
  • Prepare project documentation, briefs and reports and compile learnings for dissemination to stakeholders.
  • Render support regarding business development services – make referrals for such services and facilitate linkages with relevant entities such as financial institutions, URSB, USSIA etc.
  • Identify needs for training and capacity building among the selected youth/enterprises.
  • Support M&E activities

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree with a bias in Entrepreneurship, MSME Development or a related field of study.
  • Adept in the use of computers, internet, Microsoft Office packages etc.
  • At least five years of experience in working with the youth focused project.
  • Experience in working with micro enterprises and business startups.
  • Possession of business planning and analysis skills
  • Capable of identifying and training mentors and arranging mentorship sessions
  • Possession of M&E skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English plus working knowledge of Rutooro
