Job Summary:  MSH is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Project Officer providing project management and operations support for MTaPS maternal, newborn, and child health, regulatory systems strengthening, and global technical leadership activities.

 

The PO serves as a key point of contact for PMs and other technical staff to ensure excellent project execution across portfolio activities. The PO addresses all requests for technical, contractual, administrative, financial, and logistics assistance in an efficient and effective manner, ensuring that MTaPS program implementation and operations are aligned with MSH policies and procedures. The PO serves as a key point of contact for a variety of needs, including project reporting, work plans, presentations, communications materials, and project tracking. The position can be located in any MSH registered country.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: As the Project Officer, you will be expected to carry out the following:

  • Ensure that all requests for technical, contractual, administrative, financial, and logistics assistance are addressed in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Partner with corporate offices as needed to address portfolio requests and ensure that MSH project management standards and methodologies are implemented across portfolios.
  • Provide support for the coordination of meetings and other events, including documenting technical discussions as needed.
  • Manage cataloguing and electronic archiving of project documents.
  • Provide support for work planning and monitoring of project implementation.
  • In collaboration with PMs, technical staff, and communications staff, contribute to presentations, documentation, and other project and communications materials, including developing success stories and increasing visibility of portfolio activities and achievements.
  • Review and manage purchase requests and invoice payments to ensure adherence to MSH policies, contractual requirements, and USAID regulations.
  • Provide support in developing, editing, and formatting portfolio products, including work plans, reports, slide decks, and other technical documentation.
  • Represent MSH and project through communication with partners and stakeholders, as needed.
  • Provide logistics support for travel related to portfolio activities.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in public health, business, social sciences, or another relevant field is required. Master’s degree in public health is preferred.
  • Four years of experience supporting health or development projects.
  • 4+ years’ demonstrated success and experience in project management.
  • Global work experience.
  • Knowledge of US Government and non-USG funded programs, regulations, and requirements.
  • Experience implementing activities related to global health and health systems strengthening.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess priorities and manage a variety of activities with attention to detail.
  • Strong conceptualization, facilitation, and planning skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with technical, portfolio, finance, and operations staff, as well as employees at every level of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written, and oral presentation skills.
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication and active listening skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and applications, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to navigate an office environment and pick up materials.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
