Job Title:   Warden Procurement (2 Fresher Jobs)

Reports to: Procurement Manager

 

About US:

Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) is a semi-autonomous agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities. UWA was established in 1996 and is managed in accordance with the Wildlife Act Cap 200.

 

Job Summary:  The Warden Procurement will implement procurement and disposal plans in accordance with the law.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compile institutional procurement and disposal plans
  • Support user departments in drawing procurement and disposal specifications
  • Support the prequalification process of providers
  • Prepare procurement and disposal documents
  • Support evaluation of procurements and disposals
  • Prepare procurement and disposal files for submission to contracts committee
  • Support implementation of contracts committee decisions
  • Prepare and timely submit procurement and disposal reports
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry into the central procurement system
  • Support accounting officer in establishing market rates
  • Support the process of payment of providers
  • Prepare and implement work plans and prepare timely performance reports
  • Supervise and appraise staff under him/her
  • Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant should hold an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement / Supply Chain Management or Bachelors in Business Administration (Procurement Option) from a recognized University and,
  • Professional qualification in Chartered Institute of Procurement and supplies (CIPS)
  • A minimum od three years of relevant working experience from a reputable Organization.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills.
  • Financial management skills
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent Customer care skills.
  • Concern for quality and standards;
  • Leadership and Team Work
  • High moral integrity
