Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the financial strategy of the business and managing all assets and resources in the most efficient manner, which promotes the sound financial health of the business.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the achievement of the company’s business objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategies including providing strategic and operational direction to the Finance and Administration Unit
  • Spearhead the preparation of the company’s annual budget and produce cash flow forecasts and variances against budget projections to assist decision-making including ensuring that budgetary controls are maintained.
  • Produce regular analyses of income and expenditure to assist top management in the budget monitoring process.
  • Maintain reliable and accurate accounting records for the company and produce management accounts, as necessary to facilitate effective management of the company.
  • Oversee the preparation of the company’s financial accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time.
  • Develop & implement an internal audit program to ensure that the company complies with financial procedures and regulations.
  • Provide cost-effective and efficient accounting and financial management reports and support to the Board, all Board committees, and all key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with tax and other related authorities to ensure full compliance and minimize exposure to the business.
  • Promote good CAPEX management practices and reporting as per Finance Policy.
  • Lead the supplier management drive to ensure efficiency and promote continuous production as well as monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and provide the best value to the company.
  • Design and implement credit policy for the business, which promotes good management of the accounts receivables portfolio and reduces bad debts.
  • Ensure that all financial statements and reports are properly and timeously prepared, communicated, and distributed as required.
  • Assist in the development, review, and improvement of accountancy computer systems within the company.
  • Provide leadership and performance management support to the finance and administration team, including annual review of the team’s performance to identify individuals’ strengths and areas for development.
  • Manage the Company’s Human Resource function with the support of the leadership team
  • Manage the External Audit and relationships with External Auditors.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, Commerce
  • Professional Qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CFA;
  • Abreast with Current Accounting Standards / IFRS and Developments in
  • Financial Reporting
  • At least eight years of relevant experience, three of which must have been at a
  • management level; Leadership exposure
  • Computer literacy
  • Company strategy
  • Reporting, Budgeting, and planning
  • Knowledge of professional quality standards
  • HR management and general administration
  • Company Secretarial exposure Business Behaviors Business Acumen, Analytical Skills, Technical Skills in Excel and PowerPoint, Result and Execution Driven, Decisive and Risk Pragmatic, Resilient and Energetic, Customer Focused, Good interpersonal and communication skills
