With 1,800 staff, Enabel manages about 150 projects in twenty countries, in Belgium, Africa and the Middle East.

 

Background

Enabel in Uganda will be implementing a new Country strategy 2023-2027. The overall objective is that “Young people and women in Uganda develop into active, economically independent citizens in a sustainable society that respects human rights and ensures quality basic services’’.

 

The WeTrain4Health project will support nursing and midwifery schools to deliver quality teaching through both “soft” components like pedagogical and institutional support, as well as infrastructure.

 

Within this this context, Enabel is seeking to recruit 1 (ONE) Project Manager with expertise in Training for excellent Health Care to manage the domains of the WeTrain4Health project, coordinate the different aspects of project implementation as well as to lead a team in the implementation of the country portfolio.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You are responsible for the good execution of the project (content, planning, budget, quality) and coordinate the realisation of the activities with a view of achieving the project objectives;
  • You support the persons indicated to lead the change process;
  • You contribute to capacity development of partner organisations and coordinate the learning process on how an intervention contributes to the development of the sector;
  • You lead the team placed under your hierarchical responsibility.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Public Health, Educational Sciences, Healthcare Management or other relevant field related to the area of expertise.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in steering international development projects;
  • At least five years of relevant experience in the management of science-based institutions in the public sector;
  • An experience as team manager;
  • Experience in several projects is an asset.
  • Required Skills and Knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies;
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in pedagogical methods in medical institutions;
  • Operational and strategic management in medical institutions;
  • Digitalisation of training in learning institutions;
  • Institutional Development especially in Health Institutions;
  • Monitoring and evaluation competences.
