ASA Microfinance (U) Ltd is seeking for professional, confident, self-motivated, and committed team players to reinforce its capacity by filling the following vacant position:

 

Job Title       : Training Officer (1 position)

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

 

Job Summary:  The Training Officer will be responsible for identifying staff training and development needs, and for planning, organising, and overseeing appropriate training in the organisation.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifying training needs within the organization through job analysis and consultation with different departments.
  • Designing and expanding training and development programs based on the needs of the organization.
  • Organize training for newly recruited staff and implement on the job training with existing staff.
  • Updating existing and, where necessary, producing new training materials.
  • Where necessary, arrange training venues.
  • Actively work in coordination with the Head HR and Head of Operations to upgrade the present training manuals.
  • Prepare training budget and monitor training expenses against budget.
  • Prepare monthly training plan and report to Head HR and Head of Operations.
  • Ensure all local staff have gone through orientation as per program targets.
  • Assist as a co-facilitator to Operations team for on the job training to new staff and refresher training to existing staff on ASA’s Operation policy and procedures.
  • Provide written and formal feedback to Branch/Regional Managers and Operations Head on the progress of trainees.
  • Keep list of staff attending the internal and external training, and maintain record of all training sessions.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Head of HR and other senior management.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in human resources Management, psychology, management science, social science, business administration or related field.
  • At least (3) years of training experience in Micro-finance field.
  • Strong knowledge of computer skills (Ms Word, Excel & Power Point).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and able to travel
