Kiira Motors Corporation or KMC is a State Enterprise in Uganda established to champion the Development of the Domestic Automotive Value Chain for job and wealth creation.

 

Job Summary:   The Accountant is responsible for providing financial and accounting services to Kiira Motors Corporation.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a complete set of financial statements to comprise a statement of financial position, a statement of profit or loss and other comprehensive income, a statement of changes in equity and a statement of cash flows;
  • Substantiate transactions by auditing and examining financial and accounting documents and Recommend actions by analyzing accounting options;
  • Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements;
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures;
  • Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions;
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information;
  • Secure financial information by maintaining accurate database backups;
  • Maintain financial and accounting information security by following internal controls;
  • Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting standards, policies and regulations;
  • Comply financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions;
  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends;
  • Maintain customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential;
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies;
  • Prepare Monthly Work Plans and Performance Reports necessary for executing the above duties and responsibilities; and
  • Any other duties assigned by the Senior Accountant




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the Kiira Motors Corporation Accountant job opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Business Studies, Accounting, Statistics, Engineering or related field from a recognized Institution;
  • At least Level II of the Certified Public Accountants Course.
  • General Working Experience of at Least (5) Years;
  • The applicant should have served as an Accountant or Equivalent for at least Three (3) Years in a Reputable Organization preferably in the Automotive/Manufacturing Industry.
